I don't see it being worth it going back out there. But I think the followers of this ARG deserve some sort of closher. Since the PM doesn't look like he is jumping back into the game. IDK I am still a little irretated that none of us have heard anything from the PM. It to me almost seems like a bad gamejack attempt.

Did we ever really get anything from this happycube forum? I can't even remember how we found the forum. I really want to hear from the PM because if this stuff is out there, and it was part my fault in not finding the knife I will go back out there. But I honestly think it was all a big crock of Censored. the only way that could have worked was one of the PM's had to live in that town. Since they didn't know the store was closed I totally striked that thought. So my guess is they just wanted to screw with someone.

I'm thinking that's not true because he repeatedly mentioned a "town" of Ulen. A quick check of Google Maps reveals that Ulen is not a town, but one of those possibly made-up unincorporated areas that frequently show up on road maps even though probably no locals have ever heard of it. (Google Maps shows me as living right on top of something called "Coffin's Corner", which I've never heard referenced anywhere else). This would fit with my theory that the bookstore in question was chosen because it comes up first on a search of rare bookstores near Lebanon. Therefore, the guy is probably not really familiar with suburban Indianapolis.

Unless it was really meant to be some unique book that he somehow got to that one specific bookstore. If not, can't we just burn the Penguin Classics version of the Odyssey and carry on with this? This is just one of those things in this (otherwise very compelling) story that doesn't make any sense (almost up there with the retconning of the broadcast signal hijack)

I mean in it working is, if I ran an ARG and I said I was going to have someone watch you, there was a book that was put in a bookstore two years ago, and a knife that was left in the woods two years ago. As a good PM you wouldn't make a random trip to a town two years ago and deaddrop some stuff and expect it to be there when someone finds your trailhead two years later.

A good PM would put the stuff there a day or two before you send someone out there. On top of that If they were local it would stand to reason if you were going to have someone go get something you would make sure that a store was still open. Sending me to get a book that the PM wasn't even sure had been sold or not was just in poor taste.

There were a million things wrong with this ARG. I was hoping to see it conclude so I could get a jist of what 9 brother/sisters, BEKs, a wackjob, a dead guy, and a murder all had to do with these videos. The whole idea of the drop I went on, was a great idea had it been planned correctly. But as it stands right now I don't see anbody getting the ending they wanted out of this.

Um, there's a whole thread a few down dedicated to detailing the events so far. No, really, I'm super serial.

I really don't know what to think. Was this some sort of promotion that went bad? A game that is being retooled at the moment? Was it a gamejack?
And the one that really annoys me...will we ever find out what the heck it actually was?
Like someone else said, if nothing else, this introduced me to ARGs and I had a *blast* working on it! I would like to do more ARGs, but I don't really want to get into any that have already been going for a while. Hopefully, there will be another spooky one right around the corner. Maybe even this one will come back. Who knows.
Hopefully it's not all done with, though.
Either way, I'll keep checking back to see.
And, if it is kaput, it was great working on this with you guys. Rock On

I'm still holding out hope that maybe this weekend or something the PM will get his/her/their act together and the game will go on. I'd hate for an otherwise cool game to go kaput just because of an instance of crappy planning.

For one thing, I'd have to find something else to do at work...
