My turn for some Emerson=Avery=Nekoda speculation...
Everything we know about the Emersons is documented in a time frame between 1988 (their marriage) and 12/29/2001 - the date of the agent photos, etc.
The note on the CD is dated 1/17/2003. Nice spec, though...sad that the basis for it is mistaken, cuz otherwise it would make sense... it seems like all these Emerson/Avery/Nekodas specs work that way. There's always something that doesn't quite fit.

Darn it! I forgot about that note. That pretty much sinks that theory...

They are all beta testing metavrx, we (as gamers) are in their virtual reality and now sh*t has gone haywire....

chalk up another wild spec for me...
perhaps the person behind the tree in the cascade vortex picture is the Garbage Collector AI.
You can see some of his backside peeking out behind the tree. Can't tell colors in a B&W pic, but those could be khaki pants. The shirt is definitely white and the coat is black. The clothing description sorta matches beth's description...

Nice theory 'out to lunch'; I don't know about everybody else but that doesn't actually sound that wild; although you would think that if the Cascade Vortex people had seen some guy manipulating light (or whatever it was) in that way, even if he was partially hidden behind a tree, they would have made some mention of it... Unless of course AI Man simply passed himself off as an observer?
It would certainly 'resolve' the problem of who that guy is, in terms of the game, anyway.

I'd have to agree, it doesn't sound all that ludicris. It makes sense, especially with adding in the dark jacket, white shirt, and light pants. Wow, that would solve that question.
You all think that we could ask Beth to ask Mr. AI if he can manipulate light?

Maybe the Cascade Vortex picture isn't a hoax, and it's supposed to show what it looks like when "Friend" does one of his 'tricks'. (Forget the part where we know how to make a picture that looks like this.) It would explain what the heck he's doing with his left hand...
I have one question though, how can anyone see his shirt? All I see is pants (probably khaki, yes) and a coat (possibly black).
Anyone care to figure out if the person in the picture is 6'1?

You can see a white strip just below his waistline, where his shirt - longer than his jacket - is hanging out. See enlarged photo of AI Man's backside, attached.

OOoohh! It's a shirt hanging sloppily out from under his jacket. I kept thinking it was his right hand, clenched tightly around something (like a flashlight).

I think that Lynne and James Avery are on the Delos level of the Aquapolis; probably in one of the guest modules (less probable - in the beta module). Given that Scratch had something to do with Aquapolis, it is possible that that's where everyone is going to (the hackers, and maybe Beth and Ethan). And, unless this spec is totally stupid (which I find very likely given past experience ) and wrongly-based, they might even use the AI man to translocate them.

Yanka, that makes perfect sense. Wouldn't that help explain the breaches that were occuring at Aquapolis? Perhaps the Avery's were trying to escape.
I spec'd earlier in another thread that Wongmo was deprogramming Dina so they would remember and go look for Jesse. Given what Ethan wrote in his blog I do think Dina and Ethan were *used* to find Jesse.

I've just noticed that AI Man's backside has been viewed 24 - yes, 24! - times; I don't know what's worse - that I made the image, or that you keep looking at it!

And Yanka, you probably won't believe me, but that is exactly what I was thinking - except for all the detail about the modules and so forth (the Aquapolis layout actually confuses the hell out of me!).
Questions are: what exactly was Scratch (if he was indeed involved, which seems likely) trying to do at the Aquapolis? And, if he potentially thought that maybe that was where Jesse's parents were, why didn't he continue to search? Or did his hack of the Aquapolis draw a blank, and if so, why?
And as far as AI Man translocating them, he might just do it if he has actually learned anything from Beth; he might actually feel guilty (echoes of Data again) about what he did to James and Lynne and try to make amends.

enaxor, I'd like to believe that Wongmo was de-programming Dina, but my hate of him won't allow it. However, Wongmo aside - how do you mean that Ethan and Dina were used? As in - by men in black suits who kept looking for Jesse because he got away? Very probable...
Actually, I'm not sure if I need to make a correction - I'm still somewhat convinced that AI man doesn't actually translocate; he probably just makes Beth beleive it - maybe he won't be bringing them to Mykonos. But I think they'll take him along anyway.

I'm with you Yanka, I don't like Wongmo either. I think he is bad and he was deprogramming Dina just enough so she and Ethan would remember Jesse and go look for him. That's what I mean by being used. In other words, Wongmo works for the system and Jesse was and still is the primary target and Ethan & Dina were the pawns used to find him.
