Hey, I just heard of ARG's yesterday, and I was wondering if all you seasoned experts could answer me something;

This graceworn character... is she like, part of the game, do you think? She was kind of bugging me for a while with her story, because I didn't believe a word of it, and then all the dramatics and everything, but then I thought, hey, maybe she's, like, a character or something. Or maybe she's telling the truth. You guys will know better than me, what do you think?

Art Bell runs a popular conspiracy theory/UFO/paranormal talk show on AM radio.

If you've ever listened to the Tool album Lateralus, his show makes an appearance at the end.

Art Bell runs a radio show called "Coast to Coast AM" (Well, he used to before George Norry took it over.) If you want to hear serious discussion of UFOlogy, spirits, angels, aliens, time travel, the Kennedy Assassination, crop circles, etc they've got it. Google it to find out more.

But it's a perfect fit, though it *is* scary in a way. You'll get ALL sorts of folks from all over the world flooding this stuff.

If we're getting this much coverage, maybe this *is* a viral for Ring 3? Wink

After learning who/what Art Bell is, I'm a little more into that idea, now. I thought "art" and assumed something a little more pretentious and irrelevant.

I have several reasons for believing this is not viral marketing.

Everything we have seen so far is very low budget. All websites associated with the ARG have been on free servers. The videos, while not terribly produced, could be easily done by someone on a limited budget.

Also, there are legal issues with using free servers for advertising a commercial product.

Music from Silent Hill made an appearance in one of the videos. However the rest of the ARG has nothing to do with Silent Hill. Once again, potential legal issues if this is for a commercial product.

If it's viral marketing for anything, it's a Neal Gaiman production. But I doubt it.
