Season 1 Solves - Is the new site working?

As I understand it, the 'final positions' have been decided and won't change, but the points still can and therefore so can the current positions. It's still possible for the 252+P01 people to be overtaken - I'm one of them and have dropped from 19th to 20th - as there are presumably players who have bonus points from live events etc that are still collecting the full set of season one cards. When they get them, up the rankings they will go Smile

Today, I received a response to a similar question I emailed to PXC. Part of their response is as follows:

"Leitmarks are still being rewarded to players who earn them from season one points. At current, we are in the middle of a systems upgrade which has delayed the dispatch of leitmarks."

Since they use the present tense in the first sentence (earn instead of earned) I'm assuming that we are still able to get points from Season one cards, and the problem currently lies in the systems upgrade.

 		Well, that answers the question of why it's almost March and my Leitmark from January hasn't arrived yet.

Hmmm...I should probably hold off on buying new Season 1 cars until this is all fixed...

 		I was able to enter a bunch of Season 1 cards, except for #60 Celebration -- that one for some reason doesn't even have an entry field! It's driving me nuts: I've been checking back on the site for a couple of weeks now, and this one card still hasn't been fixed. So it just sits on my desk, taunting me...

Aside from the obvious technical issues, I'm really not happy with the new site. The stark pinkness is not doing it for me, and I really hope the lack of features and ease of use is not part of the 'redesign'.

 		Just tried to enter a couple of cards - #198: Headrush and #182: Transit. Both UID numbers work fine, but it's just not accepting my answers (which I know are right because I double checked here). It's not locking me out after three attempts either.

I hope to God they fix this for the S2 cards! Anyone tried e-mailing MC? Obviously some cards are fine (at the time of writing 97 cards have been solved today).

Are you resident in the UK? A number of people at the Party on the 24th (including myself) received their Leitmarks for January in the post that morning. I gained mine on the 11th of January - if you didn't gain yours until the end of the month, you might have missed the January cut-off date.

I have sent a couple of e-mails to MC, so far without response.
While this is frustrating, I think it's worth remembering that:
1) it's still a Beta site,
2) MC are going to be extremely busy at the moment, and
3) their priority is likely to be the Season 2 cards.

What's bothering me just now is the possibility that the problem is browser-related. I don't think it is: I would expect MC's play-testing to include IE, and people have reported problems with other browsers.
However, it would be interesting to know if anyone has successfully got a solve on the new site for cards reported here as problematical.

 		Season 1 Solves - Is the new site working?
I have had success with getting #129 Dot Gone and #018 Natal Name to solve on the new site, both using FF1.5.

I have not been able to get #005 Out On A Limb or #021 Divide By Three to solve on the new site, and this holds for either IE6 or FF1.5. I have checked my answers with the forums, and they are correct.

Which may explain why I can't play some of the meatier puzzles on the site either.


I've tried using Firefox (2) and Safari, to no avail.

Was really hoping to get some points in before the February Leitmark cutoff.

That's essentially what I was talking about - the "Hall of Fame" is frozen, so earning more Season 1 points and increasing your ranking really only has personal relevance.

 		At one point, answers entered with dropdowns weren't working, but radio buttons or text boxes were. Is that still true?

I don't know about card #222, but the other three mentioned in lonadar's original post (i.e. #68, #99 and #102) are all text entry. The two I've had trouble with are #161 and #216, which both use dropdowns. I did however get a solve for #131 (text entry) which initially made me suspicious of dropdowns, but the other comments on this thread suggest there isn't any clear pattern.

 		#222 - Instigator is text entry as well, as was Jigsaw, which I was able to submit.

3 days - still no response.
