Oh well. Though I was on to something. :-/

I still dont get why they would even turn on a routing like that, instead of just having emails bounce like the randombanana one I sent. I mean it seems like kind of a red herring to me but oh well. Like, geist is so well written that they musta known people would try that so why have the emails route or whateva?

Wasn't it that we originally spelt it Aluminum and it just evolved to Aluminium in the UK as many words did due to a lack of standardised spelling?

Well, the way I heard it is that it was telegraphed over from the UK to the US, and it was misspelled somewhere along the way.

Seriously, though, the confusion is the fault of the chemist Sir Humphry Davy, who first spelled it "alumium," changed that to "aluminum," and finally adopted "aluminium," which is what his colleagues thought it should have been called in the first place.
