 		The header for the site has changed... it used to read 256 IS JUST A NUMBER and underneath, in smaller font, /NOT/. Now it is reversed with /NOT/ on top.

 		Well, er, I already tried logging into the Wordpress account last week -- if that's not what he means, I'll soon be carted away and deported under a computer crimes statute.


Thanks for giving an AIM username for him -- the original poster on LJ cut it out, and I was wondering about it last night.

by the sounds of it i am still lost on the "way we can communicate. safely." but i do have another theory regarding the photos. he said they might be familiar, i think they might be his dad. also the video he posted with the phone playing sound, he doesn't remember doing. that is also the same night his phone was reset. thinking maybe his memory was wiped too or he was drugged etc.

anyway i really need some help with finding the key to communicate with 256.

 		ok..I'm stumped..

I tried the Word Press log-in. I'm pretty sure that "256" is the right user name. I tried a few different things and everything but "256" gave me a Incorrect Name error. "256" just gave me a incorrect password message.

I tried quite a few variations, including "256" and "652" in Binary. nothing.

I'm REALLY not sure we are even supposed to trying to log in here.

I tried hunting around for hidden links. also nothing.

any ideas?

 		i think it will be another page like http://www.256isjustanumber.com/not/ i have tried lots of other /something/ but no luck. i think when we get the right page we will need to login.

 		Something else: 00110110 as a binary number (meaning, converted to decimal) is 54. But that has no /something/ ties, either.

 		Then what the hell is he talking about? I'm going to search Google for a bunch of site:256isjustanumber.com things.

Also: confirmed with the new video! 6 is the key.

EDIT: Maybe an FTP? And though it probably won't help, 208.113.166.117 is the IP.

I really don't think that trying to log into WordPress is part of the puzzle here.

 		i think it is actually. if you are one of the 5 he has IMed then try logging in with your username (ie Jabba for me).
