I've always worked under the assumption that the boards have no bearing on the game. my thinking is that if we talk here, it would be like meeting in an abandoned parking structure in the real world. Or in a spy novel. I could be wrong though.

That's why I said I might be being noobish, but Alex telling you that he knew he would be able to trust you if you don't tell your friends the info he gave you kind of throws me off. How else would he know if you told your friends or not? Also, TA seems to have implied at points that information being gathered here was good, and that it just needed to be pooled and sorted.
Sorry if I'm reading into things too much, and all this probably isn't important to what's happening overall.

On another note, I've been looking into this "code" that you received. I put code in quotes because I'm starting to think that it is just something to throw everyone off. A few things bother me about it. There are numbers in it, which to me implies that there is some sort of substitution scheme going on, especially because there are so many of them strewn throughout the text. Also, what has been suggested as a key ends with an apostrophe, which is a bit strange. Granted it may just be a garble, but I'm not sure. I've experimented with all the types of ciphers I know, and haven't really gotten anywhere. I'm starting to get the feeling that there are multiple things going on here. A key where 14 of 17 characters the same seems a bit suspicious as well.

Also, the 3/3/7 2:00PM on the website has kind of been ignored lately. It'd be interesting to figure out what this is (especially if its a date: that's tomorrow). I've googled this and found nothing that seemed relevant. Also, is this connected with the next line or not? Could this be when the Russian plans to "turn it up"? As noted by someone: why just 7 and not 07?

These boards are strictly OOG. The only way I would have blown my cover is if one of you were to say to Alex "hey, April said you're headed to Frisco!". Yes, PMs will monitor the forums to check our progress and see how were're doing in general, however, they cannot post here as a character, and the characters cannot use info here. In other words, Alex cannot come after me claiming that I've ratted him out to my friends, since he read it on the forums. It would have to be one of us spilling it, or TA going to Alex saying that I told him his location.

The code has to be legit. I don't why anyone would want to piss off their players by throwing garbage at them...lol! But, as far as what it could be, I'm still stumped. I've been going at it under the assumption that it's a combination of several, but I've gotten nowhere either....we need help!

I'm good with the working together idea...I'll keep on with Alex. I think we should feed info to TA as long as it doesn't compromise Nikolai, at least until we get a better feel for what he's about.

I checked flights on SA from both Tokyo and Singapore going to San Francisco...there is nothing that arrives in SanFran on Saturday at 2pm. It could very likely be on a different airline, who knows at this point.

After I called TA with the info on Alex's location, he was online briefly. He said his access to us was being limited by his superiors, so he wan online just long enough to basically confirm that he got the message. Looking at how past tech people have fared in Ashcroft related projects, I wonder how long TA will be around.... Shocked

Yeah. It's all odd. I've got an hour bus ride coming up, and I plan to work on the code the entire time. Also, 3/3/7 is tomorrow. Yay. I guess. Whatever. But potentially interesting things could happen. Good thing it falls on a weekend. Work has been a pisser lately, which explains my recent lack of activity.

I might have something. I took out all the numbers and then used a Caesar cipher. 13 rotations yields this: egtpogehwasiiaolghiseoesopjfrjfit. Gibberish, but enough vowels to be something. I'm anagramming it now.

I tried something similar. When I took out all the number, noticed that there were ten and they could form a phone number. I've tried them both in the order they are listed and in reverse order to no avail. I've also tried all sorts of ways of forming messages with these numbers as letters, I tried to get them to group, I've tried different transformations and substitutions. I'm getting no where so far...
Currently I'm going on the hypothesis that this is how we are going to end up in contact with the Russian.

I'm really interested to see what happens tomorrow at 2...

I tried the phone number thing as well on the bus yesterday. Of all the three number combinations possible, only 14 are area codes and about 1/3 of those aren't in use any more. I tried a few of the numbers I came up with and got nothing but a dial error. There's still a ton I haven't tried, though.

Well I just had a very brief conversation with TA. Nothing useful except that he knows the name of the Russian now. He spelled it: Nikolai Petrovski.
*sigh* I don't think I did that whole conversation thing correctly...

I just recieved two calls form TA's phone number. First one was nothing...not voice, just a little background noise. About 5 or so mins later, I got a second call from TA's number, only it was Alex on the line. He said he was on TA's phone, that he was in Rochester (no surprise, as this is the area code), and that (at least, I thought I understood him to say) TA is not who we think he is. It sounds like Alex killed someone to get to this line, but it wasn't TA.

He also told me that he lied about going to San Francisco, since he said it was obvious from the start that I was working against him (which was not true at the time of our first convo) and he wanted to give me a false lead.

Oh yeah, he wanted to remind me that he had friends who could come kill me. In rural South Dakota...where I happen to know we are just swimming in Russian Mafioso types...disguised as cattle ranchers and corn farmers....hehehe!!! But I digress...
