I've just got this back from Frankie:
Quote:
Dear Ollie,
Your questions are very pertinent and of great interest to me. However, I am unable to answer them today. You will appreciate I have a lot of research to do and many threads to investigate. I am glad of your interest though and will very soon call on you and your friends/colleagues to assist. This won't be an easy task and will require a lot of brain activity on everyone's part. I hope you are ready.
Yours,
Frankie Francis.

By the way...I think it's very cool that they got Alanis Morrissette for this part.
That es exactly what I thought when I saw the pic!!!
By the way, I've been trying to get a better look at the medallion she is wearing. I'm having one h*ll of a time with it - there is so little detail in the larger image. Under some PS filters it almost looks like the inkblot from the SRI test but I can't get it clear enough to post.

I decided to email her too:
Quote:
Dear Dr. Francis,
I am very intrigued by the work you are attempting. But, first, I wanted to thank you for sending Eva's items back to her. The bear in particular seems to have really cheered her up a great deal. There are several of us who have been in contact with her trying to help her find her lost cat. Then she got laid up with a foot injury and was just feeling very down so we tried to help keep her spirits up. Where in the world did you find the bear? I can't believe a child's toy from so long ago was still in such good condition?
Your interest in combining art with science is compelling. How many scientific patterns have been found that look to be art in and of itself? The growth of crystals, the veins on a leaf, even beautifully realized mathematical equations. There are not many people doing what you are doing yet. This subject180287.net is already creating pleasing patterns. I wonder what it is capable of!
I did want to ask you one more thing; what is the image on the medallion you are wearing in the picture? It looks interesting, but I can't see it clearly.
Thank you for your time,
WolfHawk
Maybe she'll latch on to some of the bait, anyway

I sent
Dear Dr. Francis,
I realize several of my friends have already made contact with you and I'm a bit let to the party as it were> I too have been keeping track of Eva's struggles, however I'm also a full time graduate student which leaves me precious little time for things such as communicating with friends as I'm sure you can appreciate. Nonetheless as a student of education and communication who is pursuing an MA in Adult Education and Communication technology, I was very excited to come across your research. The term meme was not altogether unfamiliar to me as a student of those two fields. I'd been vaguely familiar with the term as "a unit of memory in the brain" or as a unit of shared meaning and culture" but though culture and meaning are not consciously agreed upon , I understood it to be a result of conscious communication (speech, written or electronic means). I'm intrigued at the notion of its going beyond that. The notion of communication from "mind to mind" takes it almost to a metaphysical level. Certainly the formation of a new sentience as you seem to suggest with the subject website raises a host of questions
Is this formation a result of conscious or unconscious efforts?
Is it's sphere of knowledge and control limited to webbased communication or can actual communication between the entity and the minds of the involved individuals occurs?
Can it exert influence over them and other objects in the physical world both animate and inanimate?
Thank you for indulging my academic curiosity.
Yours,
Michelle Gelles

Geist Grid plot? I may be imagining things again... Is it my imagination, or does the paper under the desk on the right-hand side remind anyone of y2kbozo's GeistGrid? (Compare here .) Maybe an upside-down version.

Contacting Frankie Anybody heard from her? I've tried emailing both Frankie and Wilson with questions during the last week, but have gotten no replies. Anyone else heard anything from them?

I tell you, what is the point of having her email up there if she's never going to answer it?
On the other hand, maybe they are leaving us to our own devices on purpose...

I didn't get any replies either, but that email address has served it's purpose for now. I reckon that the game is about to ramp up. I get the feeling we've really only been playing a kind of pre-game, keep us interested while the real game prep is happening?!

Actually, there was a news article on the Watershed website that indicated that the game would last exactly eight weeks, starting January 14. So it looks moreso like we're entering the endgame, rathering than just starting.
