That was so fantastic and awe-inspiring! (and what a fun way to enter the community!) Thanks and thanks again to everyone who organized ARGFestocon.

Awesome! Personally I love getting the perspective of a person new to the ARG's. You guys have a favorite moment? A worse moment even? My worse moment was at In-n-Out. That diet soda tasted suspiciously like regular. I ended up throwing it away.

Sooo... did you all eat the cake? Was it chocolate?

Can't wait to hear the whole story of Gupfee's kidnapping.

[It's 2:22am, Monday, back home in Las Vegas - I think my 30 min nap on the plane re-energized me...or maybe it was the demand for pictures when I 'squeek'ed in the chat room....or maybe I should have gone straight upstairs instead]

Pictures took almost an hour to dl from my camera (silly me, the high res setting was on...and resulted in some off colors indoors, sorry 'bout that).

Not much on the tagging/captions and such tonight - I can organize tomorrow into the proper set/subsets and get the identification process started (PLEASE HELP OUT WHERE YOU CAN).

As for ARGFest'07. WOW!
I learned so much from talking with PMs (authors, puzzle creators, game designers, website coders, etc) and other players. We come from so many backgrounds & life experiences, and from all over the world. Don't forget that this community is also full of amazingly of talented players.

I'll start my thank you list (and sorry if I leave something or someone out - I'll probably add to it as it occurs to me). Rose - for organizing this conference (and your team for getting our registrations packets, lanyards, etc). Brian Clark - for sponsoring the conference (and a Confused for leaving me at the hotel instead of walking with me to the Irish Pub). All the folks who graciously loaned items for the SWAG Museum (I think we're going to need another table). Jamesi - for letting me sit at the table and not glaring at me when I forgot to keep my mouth shut during the Netcast recording (I can't help it - I'm an opinionated rodent, especially when drinking). Ego - for being our cabana boy during the Netcast (and I don't think he spilled a drop). Catherwood - for selflessly volunteering to pick up folks from the airport, being very flexible when planes were late (she must have made about 4 or 5 round trips on Friday). Jane - it was chaotic, but my first time playing Cruel2BKind was loads of fun (your parents-in-law seemed very nice). The FestQuest Organizers - for kidnapping Gupfee and sending us on a lovely little jaunt (but it was worth it for the free samples of dark chocolate w/ caramel; she is lucky we managed to save one for her ransom). Vortech - that was an incredible dinner (anyone interested in FINE dining, talk to this gentleman). Jan & Dave - thanks for creating your fictional worlds for me to play in (looking forward to the next ones)(and a special thank you to Jan for that little extra memory). And last, but not least, SpaceBass - for starting this whole mess (unFiction and ARGFest) - maybe we'll get you the wet t-shirt part next year.

And with that, I'll go find my own bed & pillow for the rest of the night.

May I just insert here, in regards to Konamouse's ("silly me, the high res setting was on")

There's a program called IrfanView which is an amazing free tool that does batch image (re)sizing and renaming, quickly and easily. For mass image collections getting uploaded to sites like flickr, you can run all your raw images through the batch resizer (I typically use 640x500 max bounds) with a 60-65% jpg quality, and upload the smaller images en masse (rarely is a jpg ever >100KB). A very nice, easy way to organize photos for online use.

I like IrfanView. Lately, I've been using Picasa, because it does simple and quick image editing while I'm about it.

Ok, this live from the hotel lobby (checking-in my flight), where I am now officially the last ARGfest person to still be around Neutral (We had breakfast this morning with all of the stragglers, and Varin was the last of the group to just leave.)

I'm actually here for another day, and will do some more touristy stuff before leaving (and hopefully be able to meet up with the folks who are still here but at GDC for dinner tonight). The past few days have been awesome, meeting everyone, exploring SF, attending the impressive conference on saturday, listening to inspiring and creative people all day, doing the FestQuest (Ariock, pita, you guys rock!), attending the Netcast recording and all other great stuff we've been doing... it rocked!

I've been repeating this to many people all day: there is no way I will NOT be going to the next ARGfest (wether it'll be in Amsterdam or not Wink )

I fly back home tomorrow, and have some heavy workstuff on my schedule for the next couple of days, but I'll probably have time to upload my pictures (most prominently: the FestQuest photo-report) in the weekend.

It's addicting, ain't it?

Sooooo glad to have been able to meet you in person! Did anyone capture yanka's face when she found out you were standing there in the flesh?

Enjoy the city!

I say next ARGFest must be EuroARGFest.

I won't go if it's in the USA. So there. How's that? Wink

I'm not sure if Vic's hat is going to be allowed to travel again.
Usually I am prompted to put it through the xray machine (like jackets and shoes). But last night I forgot it was on my head and walked through the metal detector...when it went off I thought it was the camera batteries I left in my pocket. But no, still beeping at me.
"Female assist" Damn.
It's the hat! There is some sort of metal in the inner band of the hat. Guess it's a good thing no one was around cause those pictures would be way too funny.

I think maybe we should give things a break. Let Rose decompress. Then we can put up a poll and discuss next year.
It sounds like this one will need extra planning for both the organizers and the participants (i.e. if passports are needed - well, I'd suggest everyone just get going on that application now regardless).

I've always wanted to get across the pond. And since konashark promised he'd go with this time....what a great excuse for a European vacation (more hint hint).

I like when people take high rez and upload them without sizing so I can look at DL the original if I want. P)
