Of course I wasn't able to chat with the rest of you sunday with Doug TenNapel, and seeing as everyone it seems that WAS there have gotten an e-mail or something of some sort, and Doug worked at Marvel Comics and what not, it seems that perhaps Doug TenNepel might be behind the whole thing?
I wasn't there, I got one.

Well I didn't get one, so obviously I automatically suspect the List of the Unsexy. But then Diandra did get one so that's right out.
Hmm, since the law firm is from the X-Men, maybe the recipients are all mutants?

Letter? I didn't get one (but I'm still relatively new to the ARG world). Starting chatting and posting in Oct 2002.

Hope this helps!

Clarification I wanted to clarify my earlier post.
I asked Necessitas if I could post her code here in the interest of sharing all the letters and info between the two boards. I did the lazy thing and cut and pasted her CD post but I was the one who posted it.
This is a fun mystery and I hope we can all share our info

Well, as far as the Mountain pick, it looks a lot like my back yard...lol...and where I can't tell you the name or where it's at (not yet anyways) I can tell you what it is...
It's an operating Ski slope/area of some kind...
Notice the two clear grassy lanes...that is where the ski run or trail will be when snow comes...also notice the towers...one in the foreground and four alond the trail in the back leading to the ski lift, the building on top of the mountain...also, notice the white dots along the mountain...five that I can see...those are chairlifts or gondolas...I can't tell which...
I'd say that this is a ski area of some sort...in a northern mountainy area that consistantly receives enough snow to make it a operating ski area....whether it's New Hampshire, Oregon or where I don't know...
It might be Cannon Mountain about a half hour south of me in Franconia Notch, but I don't think so...it looks kinda sorta the same, but I wouldn't be betting on it...any body out there ski?

jphide and camouflage I'm going to try to download the 5 pictures to see if anything (like an isbn number) is stegged in the files.
I'm using http://www.unfiction.com/dev/tutorial/steg.html
to assist.
it may take a while (don't have the software on this computer) so let us know if anyone else finds anything.

first, XeXiXsXtXeXiXnX XiXsX XaX XBXMXPX,X XNXoXtX XaX XjXpXgX.
[CORRECTION - - Apparently I saved it to my harddrive wrong.]
jphide uses the fact that a jpg file always ends with FF D9
The 4 jpg files all end with FF D9, so none of them were stegged with jphide.
any of the five files could have been stegged with camouflage. Unfortunately, if you don't have the password, or the original file, it's hard to tell.
It's possible that the einstein bmp has the same trick that "the beast" used with the green PDA.

Well, sap has just discovered a very interesting thing about the file attachment mod: when it displays graphic files it apparently converts them to bitmap. So if you try to save a pic from the displayed image, you won't get the original file that was uploaded. Instead, you have to right-click the link to the file and "Save Target As.." (or the equivalent for your browser). Einstein.jpg is in fact a jpg.

Imbri's piece of the puzzle I'm thinking that Imbri's piece of the puzzle was decoded with the wrong method. My reasoning is everyone that didn't receive .jpg files seems to have decoded their clue into a word. Using the phone method, there was no match for the first supposed ISBN number, and the others (AIE) don't seem to be a part of any english words I can think of.
I think we need to go back to the drawing board here and try some other way to decode her piece.
