I think I read on Perplexorum earlier that the Satoshi hunt has now been featured on ABC - maybe it was somewhere else I'm pretty tired today

Yep, it was me! http://abcnews.go.com/Video/playerIndex?id=2820107

The site was also on David Pogue's New York Times blog and Aleks Krotoski's Guardian games blog.

(Before that it was on Neatorama and then Digg, where it was on the front page. And, I have already checked out both of the leads proposed in the comments on several of these -- neither one is our guy.)

I'm working on Wired, NPR and others! Smile

I think we should all thank you Laura for the work you're doing trying to find Satoshi, I still haven't heard from MC whether the Satoshi registered to play has anything to do with it, if you have any contacts there Laura could you possibly find out so that we can cross it off the list ?

Thanks again and keep up the good work Smile

Yep, noticed that in the Guardian's tech section and have emailed them suggesting we could help spread the word about what they're doing (pointing out some of the media outlets Satoshi has been mentioned in lately) - they're still a startup company so they may be interested. Stay tuned! Smile

Go make a Threadless Shirt. www.threadless.com

Post the idea on a public board somewhere and get people to vote on it. If it gets good votes, Threadless will sell the shirts.

then Threadless will be infected with Satoshi as well. All the voters will see it and wonder. WTF is this. and then they will be infected. ... And then we will have shirts wandering around the world looking for Satoshi.

This will help. ... Its a browser plugin they are working on.

Its new... Basicly it picks out images from web pages, and uses facial
reconstruction to "find" faces. Then it catalogs them, and allows people
to search the web using facial data.

Its basicly a Human Face search engine.

I dont believe its finished, but the company should know what we are doing.
They will want to help, if only for publicity.

Satoshi Kamiya

Haven't been able to find many recent or good pictures and I searched and didn't see his name listed on this thread yet. He's about 25, was in France in 2004 for sure for the MFPP, a french origami convention. A renowned origami master, which seems to fit the mold of Perplex City.

Facial Features

Not trying to be mean or anything but I definitely don't think that's the guy because the Satoshi we are looking for has a mole although that's some amzing origami the only thing I can make is the crane from Sadako Sasaki...

Will he be there?

If anyone's going to the end-of-season-one party on the 24th - keep your eyes peeled....
Satoshi might be drawn to the event!
If I was Satoshi I'd probably use a disguise and gate-crash!!

I searched the forum but couldn't find any reference to this so trout me if appropriate but I'm not scouring 30 odd pages just to check!!

Quote from http://www.20000-names.com/male_japanese_names.htm

Quote:
Satoshi is a Japanese name "clear-thinking; quick-witted; wise."

Don't know if it will help but maybe the question he would give you if you found him is What does my name mean

Worth a shot anyway, does anyone with the card want to give it a go??

Or maybe this is supposed to help is some way....

Well it's hardly that significant becuase Satoshi is a very popular name if I'm not mistaken but people aren't gonna bother that much with the unsolved cards anymore....Good point though
