[Grey District] Whisper Club - Captain's Account - Solved Another new puzzle! It's an audio file. I am terrible at taking dictation. Maybe someone could transcribe it?

Failed attempts :
Trent
Trees
nt
es
There was some logic behind those guesses by the way.
Failed solve message gives something like .....
"alias not found in database"
with a "try again" link which takes you back to solve entry page.

It sounded like the letters were "DRE" to me, not "TRE"
Nope, it was TRE. Here's the transcript. (and it's not "tread"....i tried that based on the running part)
Quote:
We have been tracking the movements of captain Eve Else the commanding officer of Defense Corps Tactical Reaction Force with the EIA. Her unit has been responsible for a huge number of recent busts on underground safe houses and we think she may be receiving sensitive information somehow. Her online accounts are locked up tight and our techs have had no luck breaking the various encryptions and codes. However, Captain Else's boyfriend, one Kent Carver isn't so cautious. And there is a good chance that his information would prove valuable to our investigation.
Here's what we know about Kent. He graduated from a small community college with a degree in food sciences. He lists his favorite pastimes as running, watching old black and white movies, and practicing his bartending skills. He always wanted to visit Paris, and regrets he never will. We were able to run a remote analysis program and keystroke capture: the first three strokes of Kent entering his password to access his personal data storage account. The security systems for the account network are going to be tough to bust. Maybe we can use the keystrokes we captured to figure out the whole password, which we were able to find out is five total strokes. If we guess wrong too many times the system could lock up and alert Kent.
The first three letters in his password are T.R.E. What are the next two.

The password itself is probably in French. It could be the name of a food, or a cooking technique. Problem is I am having difficulty finding words that begin with "TRE" involving those areas.

Answers What are you entering?

With the last part of the mp3 asking for the other two, have you been just entering the unknown letters in the solve box, or the whole word?

My initial gut feeling was all five, but on re-reading it seems they ask for "what are the next two," so two? But I haven't actually put in any.

The fact that he likes old Black and White movies has got to be information of worth. According to bishop even our present day movies are seen as archaic. And since classical cultural works are rutinely destroyed according to theophilus in one of his hacked vid feeds, it makes that hobby somethign your average DC citizen doesn't share.
So I think we're looking for an old BW movie, set in france(paris) involving a bartender. Password could be an actor in said film, could be the name of the coctail ordered, or I could be barking up the wrong tree.
I have no knowledge of black and white movies, so I wouldn't even know where to start with this line. But those are my thought's on the password...
Regarding the 5 vd 2 letter answer, I would suspect both are acceptable, but the text implies only 2 to me.

casablanca What about something in Casablanca. It's a black and white movie, has to do with Paris, and there is that famous line about the Gin joint. Any ideas?

That sounds like the right way to go about it, but I can't find anything connected with Casablanca that starts with 'tre'.

Her name is
evE
elliS(?)
But I cant figure out the last one unless it's captaiN
However, I have not tried any of these combinations yet. I'm just throwing out an idea.
