I was just looking around at all the sites involved with this ARG, hoping maybe I'd come across something that was missed. Then I found this which might just be me being paranoid, but I figured I'd put it out there anyway.

On Tom D. Cesear's Blogspot, the one which only has one entry;

He who seeks, finds
This isn't my real name. I don't have time to explain he'll be back soon. I think we may be able to help each other. Stay put, I'll try and post later
shit gotta go tqbcmf tel nyjku

there are two comments.

one from tom d. cesear: "thats odd..."

and one from someone named blessedmercy: I found you .. how can we help each other?

If this has all been brought up before, I apologize. I do not wish to step on toes here. But has anyone determined if this blessedmercy has anything to do with all this? Is she a player? Does she know either CM or Eric or both?

Her Blogspot is here if you would like to look into it

It's probably nothing, but i guess it couldn't hurt to try.

hmm. only two posts, and nothing for months. seems fishy.

also, can anyone fill in the blanks for me:

"hello, and welcome to (BLANK). we've been waiting for you. please confess your sins after the tone and you will be greatly rewarded and perhaps even featured. i'm afraid that (BLANKS HERE - "miss deercot says"?) that he(we?) cannot continue further until we recieve enough confessions. so please confess... BEGIN SPEAKING AT THE TONE. WHEN YOU ARE FINISHED, HANG UP, OR PRESS POUND FOR MORE OPTIONS"

if it says "miss deercot", does that mean "he" is a "she"?

damn those "translate text into speech" programs!

Eric's father just posted this on the Finderictaylor.com forum

Hi everyone,

So I promised you all an update on the Morse code. We've finally managed to make some progress on the message. We have some really skilled audio people helping us, and they were able to amplify the Morse code slightly over the preacher's voice. Don't ask me how they did it - I have no idea. I think they messed with the pitch or the frequency, but they didn't really explain it to me. Anyway, it's still not perfect by any means but it's a lot clearer than before. We can now tell that the coded sequence is about 32 seconds in length and repeats throughout the sermon. We're currently trying to translate it. I've put a link to the amplified code below. Maybe you guys can help us with this (it's a big job)?

Thanks,
Michael Taylor

Ok, Eric's dad just posted this, and I didn't even thing about it.

Quote:
PLEASE READ IMMEDIATELY

Hello all,

First of all, I would like to apologize to everyone for not getting this warning out sooner. Honestly, I didn't think about what Sam Deercot's intentions could be because all I've wanted is to get my son back, and he said that calling him was the only way this could go forward. I called and confessed my sins just like many of you, but I think we seriously need to consider the fact that THIS WHOLE THING COULD BE A TRAP.

Remember - we are dealing with a KIDNAPPER and potential MURDERER here. Please DO NOT reveal any personal contact information to this man that could lead him to identify you - not your NAME, not your EMAIL, and definitely not your HOME ADDRESS or PHONE NUMBER. If you do call, please DIAL *67 beforehand- that way his caller ID can't get your number either. Remember, this man is NOT a priest - I have no idea what his intentions are but I have a bad feeling about this, so be VERY CAREFUL.

I would very much like this to go forward so I can get my son back, and it seems that confessing our sins is the only way to do this. But I do NOT want to see any of you putting your own lives at risk in ANY WAY. You have all been incredibly brave and selfless for helping our family - I hope that if a stranger ever needs MY help I can be as brave as all of you. BUT - we also must remember WHO we are dealing with, and we must proceed with CAUTION at all times. If you have any questions, please contact me.

Thank you,

MICHAEL TAYLOR

I totally didn't think about that, but we get so comfortable from the outside looking in of the game, and we (or at least I) didn't even think to do this.

The first blank is clearly "welcome to Purgatory" but pronounced oddly.

It sounds like the "(??) Deercot" is actually two syllables, and possibly "Mrs." or more likely "Mr."

(Currently registering for this site but the confirmation mail is taking longer than I'd like)

Yeah, I think it says Mister, she just has a slightly odd pronunciation on some words.

1. I didn't dial *67 and now I hope I don't get kidnapped. (OOG-LoL!)

2. I'm mad at myself for not getting the morse code. When I called back to record it, it was changed... AHole.

3. Good Work Neil. <3

"That's Odd" gave the hint to solve "tqbcmf tel nyjku" Rot-Odd.

I don't think that's anything, but I could be wrong. The profile was made recently...?

is december 2006 too recent in terms of this game? did the blog need to be made before this date for it to work, or could the CM have made it in advance and just implemented it in dec 2006?

I e-mailed BlessedMercy a while back and before I got a response I noticed that she had posted on these forums and seems like she is just a regular player.

She sent a response which seems to confirm this.
