The bots for various search engines are all registered.

As you can see here , Phaedra is right. They have a seperate status as "bot" as well, as you can see from the unFiction main page, all the way down at the bottom.
Having said that, I'm moving this to the General forum...

Spiders are generally allowed to index the site anyway. Mainly, it's to separate out those known bots from the anon/guest statistics.

Well, for forums like this, that wouldn't be very hard... just give unregistered guests no rights whatsoever, and spiders/bots won't be able to access it.
