No, don't!
Now Monki's just going to combine his avatar with Beth's picture and make us all look at it... now I'm really depressed...

You said that the guy's name means house builder in german, right?
not quite. schuff means created, like it's been manufactured already. he wouldn't translate literally as the architect, but as the object of architecture.
i don't know if i buy into the idea of walsh as a mastermind figure yet since he hasn't entered the plot super heavily yet, except for beth's wierd statement about him living a wired reality, and for marcus saying that he appointed katherine.
plus, if wongmo/aqn/whatev is in fact walsh, doesn't that relegate him to the level of chief reprogrammer?
i think there has to be at least one level of authority we haven't seen at all yet.

In addition to what was said above, it is also unlikely that Walsh could just run off to another state and maintain his position at metacortechs.. :)

I go with Dirty Rotten Scoundrels I'm not sure we should take too much inference in the translation of Wongmo's new identity, other than it was the same name used by M. Caine's character in Dirty Rotten Scoundrels.
I think of it more as that he's so arrogant he thinks he can pick a name that's clearly associated with con artistry and still manage to fleece his flock.

sorry if this sounds stupid, or been brought up. there is alot on these boards to absorb.....
i noticed almost everyone hates wongmo, aside from being a new age psycho freak, what exactly has he done wrong? has anybody ever thought that maybe he was the one person who may already be unplugged and is trying to meet others thru his seminars, etc, that may be ready for the unplugging? he always talks about rebirth and new life yadda, yadda, yadda. perhaps that is why he keeps changing identities, locations, because some monitors have caught on to him? maybe someone should email and ask him if he knows anderson, thomas?
i dont know just my thoughts on the whole thing.

Almost like Neo searching out for "Morph"eous. Oops Matrix Reference. But it makes sense.
Maybe some needs to ask him about "The Truth"

I wonder if he hands out red pills at his seminars?
Seriously, the main argument against this, as far as I can determine, is that Wongmo is making money off these people (most prominently, the CD of Wongmo-licious music); if Wongmo is part of the Zion resistance, he wouldn't need money to buy stuff - he could just write a program for it and have it uploaded into the Matrix. EDIT: Same is true if he were an agent or monitor of the system; they don't require money either.
Plus, the kind of people that Wongmo would attract aren't exactly the kind of people who could significantly contribute to the resistance. (Not that I'm saying that Dina is weird, but she really could've chosen a better mentor ).
EDIT: Although I suppose the fact that Wongmo charges money adds a certain amount of legitimacy? But, then again, Morpheous didn't charge Neo $5 to take the red pill.

Since AQN left the Wongmo identity in such a hurry, does this mean that everyone who won something in Wongmo's talent search (or whatever it was called) won't be receiving them? Has anyone received their winning gifts from Wongmo?

creating another identity doesn't necessarily mean that the others are abandoned. wongmo's website is still up. philip went to the house and it was empty - but for how long before philip went there was it empty? it was the first time he was even there...

That brings up a question I had. I hope it hasn't been discussed before. This is a clip of the email Phil sent to Beth:
Quote:
I drove over to the address I had for him, and as I pulled up in front of the house I got the most eerie feeling. Something in my gut was screaming THERE'S SOMETHING NOT RIGHT HERE!! but I couldn't pinpoint it.
Who is the "him" he's talking about??? I've been wondering about that.
