Yeah, I think the words that popped out of my mouth when I pulled the the card from the envelope were precisely "Ooh, sparrow!" .
This is definitely a interesting and confusing sequence of pages, as described by folks in the beginning of this thread.

So... I had no previous knowledge of this game, or story, or Timewaster - until this afternoon when I received a cryptic envelope from NYC with nothing on it but my snail mail address and a note that reads: "This was supposed to be in the ARGFest packet - rose" ("rose" being our own UF rose, ARGFest Organizer Extraordinaire, I suppose). Inside the envelope was a card with a symbol in the form of the picture on the Craigslist ad, except in blue and green, and embossed. Also on the card is "origamishadows", which led me here.
Did anyone else get one of these cards?

Got one too in yesterday's mail. I think they must be dipping a stamp in acrylic paint to make the images. Mine is blue with a litle green; bird only.
So...does anyone think there might be more to this than just a Timewaster?

I would like to note: Posted: Today, at 3:40 am
How can you think about *anything* at that hour?
To answer the question - I guess it means something more is up... but so far, the vast amount of content has boggled my brain and I'm not even certain where to start!

Hmm. Somebody's daylight savings time hasn't adjusted - it was 7:40 AM eastern time. But the timestamp for me is showing 6:40 AM (which is 3:40 AM for you, cel).
Now if we could only figure out the connection with the lamp finial.

I got a card in the mail as well -- is there a reason we're assuming this is just a Timewaster?

I think maybe because there's been very few puzzles and just alot... ALOT... of story... and disjointed story at that.

AR does not necessarily have to have puzzles (we're just used to seeing them as the means to advance the plot in the Alternate Reality). But if no puzzles, then it isn't a Game, it's just a weird way to read a story.
However, maybe something will change once we find the right page?

I've been entirely through this, to the end, and while there were a few mini-puzzles involved with finding all the pages, once you do so it's fairly straightforward. You'll understand once you've gone through it yourself. It's definitely a timewaster, though, not an ARG.
I also conversed a bit with the author (at the WHOIS address), who seems nice; I think this is his first such effort. I asked him to keep me informed if he does more.

argh! I need to give my address out more
ETA: Oh my word... I did a site copy, and there are upwards of 320 html pages (and almost 300 other files), and including a few subfolders.
wow. If this was all done for the story, it's like a novel...
