There was some discussion at the recent ARGfest about archiving ARG content. Increasingly, after an ARG has completed, the websites flicker out--usually because the designers of the ARG are different than the advertisers/marketers/whatever paying for the content. The advertisers own the domain names and content and the ARG developers (because of intellectual property issues) are not allowed to publish copies of the content. If the advertiser stops caring, the sites eventually die out and the domains expire.

A lot of people think that it is a good idea to have a centralized mirror of site content and other media as a backup or safety net for any/every ARG just in case the above scenario happens. In this spirit, I am starting to do what I did for the old Matrix/Metacortex/MU ARG a few years back (which was later used to help make a book of the adventure.) The new site is http://yearzero.netninja.com/ and contains site mirrors, a centralized repository of media files, copies of email responses, and anything else that could be useful.

A couple of fairly new and experimental features to note are the Firefox live bookmarks of game sites and the podcast-style feed of the various audio and video files used throughout the game (point your favorite podcatcher, such as iTunes, at http://yearzero.netninja.com/notes/media_as_podcast.xml )

Of The Truth was found. [How? I know that some DNS
trickery was used to locate other domains on the same IP, but
was there also a more official way that?].

It should be noted that Another Version Of The The Truth is a song on Y0. We (the whole community that is involved) started putting song names into URLS. I hope this might clear some things up a wee bit. Smile

 		Way to go Brian. I seem to recall the netninja domain being an invaluable resource during the ILB game. Smile

Edit: There's a PHP warning halfway down your /media directory listing.
