Rock On

Thanks to all of you. It was fun, educational, strange, challenging. And I will see "The Host" when it comes to my neighborhood.

I agree, thank you to everyone involved! It was great fun!

And thanks for giving up part of your collection, Dave Szulborski. Your comic book has found a safe home, in it's own bag, with the rest of my comic book collection. Your monster stickers have joined my almost complete set of original Alien bubble gum cards.

I have to say, for this being only the second or third ARG that I've followed through from beginning to end ... Outstanding.

My hat is off to the PM Staff for the compelling story and wonderful characters that they gave us - and I look forward to seeing so much more from you guys in the future.

Kudos .. and then some.

Insane

Thank you! And thank you for teaching me that cryptozoology is a real word.

I'd like to add my thanks as well.. I would never have though that body-modification, Bigfoot, and the Vietnam war could be intertwined together, but that just shows what I know! It was fun!!

Impressive.
Good job!
The 5-pers must have been a real challenge to put together.

I had the privelege of sitting with Dave Szulborski at the ARGfest dinner, and the subject of the 5PERs came up. "A minute to learn, a lifetime to master" -- that summed it up for me, as the puzzle *method* is rather simple in concept but I didn't seem to have the skillset for solving them. (He said his proofreader had a similar difficulty with them.)

The fold-over puzzles were fun too, once we got the methodology. I built a spreadsheet of translation tables for each flap and many of the flap combinations -- the set-up for that took a lot of tedious work, but the effort was worth it for subsequent coded messages which I could just plug into Excel to solve.

I have to admit that in the past I have labelled many of his puzzles from CTW as "evil", but with MHC he has won me back as a fan. The variety was good, the difficulty range was good, the in-game-ness was good, and the *repetition* of puzzle types was a blessing!

While I didn't immerse as much into the MHC world as I did with Who Is Benjamin Stove, I did recognize the WiBS feel in the websites and the writing. In my mind, Jim Gunshanan will always be Tucker, so it was a bit distracting to hear the same "voice" for Derek and Matt. But I knew from day one that there was quality behind the game, so thanks for being there.

yeah, i swore I wasn't gonna play, then I swore I was only going to lurk for the puzzles, then by the end I was watching a "live" webcam and talking about the characters. Good job, game!

cather - i was in the same spot. i fell into the rabbit hole but RL was really keeping me away from being immersed. i kept up by reading the updates in uF but wasn't going to the websites.....until ARGFest.

i quickly caught myself up by reading (and archiving) website stuff, got more active in puzzle solving, interacting with the characters, and you know on the last day i was freaking out at work at noon, on the phone with Red to make sure i could "hear" what was happening on the video (and sooo happy that my work computer could at least show the video - since it's old and so many sites are blocked).

Dave et al can so easily suck me in.....

I can't wait for the next and I'm looking forward to a Dave S./Jan L. collaboration (hint hint hint).

OMG - I so second that! As for immersion, Jan taught me how & Dave help me do it better! Thanks to the both of you! Heck, I am still worried about how Matt is taking it all Smile

But to have the 2 of them collaborate on a game, OMG!!!!! That would really just HAVE to be THE ARG that all future ARGs would be judged against!

But I think both of them deserve a little time to have a life too, so you guys collaborate & develop for a bit before you completely drag me under, okay Smile ?
