This sounds incredible, it was a bit disappointing that I missed ILoveBees but this sounds even better, can't wait until the game ramps up.

oh an if it's ok, i've added everyone who's mentioned a LJ or Vox blog as friends or in my neighbourhood, just to keep track of stuff.

After much lurking on this i thought i might add that the third user picture on the Without Oil website looks to me like a picture of Ms McGonigal. (gala_teah I believe). Of course this is just an idle thought.

Another idle thought which is exciting for me is that this ARG looks like it might very well go down the path of Forum Theatre.. dont worry im not about to go into a big spiel about such practices, you can wiki it if youre interested im sure.

[AIM] From mPathytest

Just got this

mPathytest: have you seen the news about Nepal?... it seems so far away... but probably closer than we realize. I'm studying it now so I can get a grip on what to expect come April 30.

A glimpse at our future? First Nepal... next, us? The himalayan Times

I've added you as a friend coffee. Just as a note, it does appear that journal posts are being looked at, so setting up some filter and friends filter groups is probably going to be a good plan. But honestly, I love having this type of problem. It bodes well for the amount and type of interaction this game will have.

In the wiki, should we maybe start a section for Chats within each character? For example, within mPathyTest's page, we could have (after her description) links to wiki pages for all the chats we've had with her, as well as another page for blog posts, etc.

I was going to try to start doing this the other day, and adding links and whatnot to the character pages... But the character pages haven't been created yet and I'm very overwhelmed by creating a new page. If someone creates pages for the characters, I'd be happy to contribute with organizing information!

Ok I just added a whole lot to the ]wiki... I haven't yet included the LJ entries or images, but I'll get to that tonight or tomorrow unless someone else does it first.

Thank you so much, TheBruce! Very Happy

Also...

The screengrab of the Team Chat is titled:

8tsocchat011407

So, I guess they had that chat on January 14, 2007. That means that the date they met at Denver happened before that; and also, mPathyTest and Dessum9 had already joined the 8tsoc by that point.

Re: oil...or lack thereof
HI Lisa Anne, I certain ly agree with you about the envionment, or what's left of it I guess. There's a lot of info that is flying around iwht us about the oil situation. It seems to me most people obsess over the oil or lack thereof, one of us named Chuck (Chuckels) was writing about who was taking "our" oil and I just had to laugh. It's not our oil and wht does it matter really aobut who's taking it or whatever, maybe ther ejust isn't enough to go around . What I think we shuold be lookin gat is what do eewe do once it's gone and we hav3e a shortage? Bye

so, that's what i have to offer right now.

Is it just me, or is anyone else concerned with the amount of typos that people have been getting in messages. The typos seems to be fairly consistant through In-Game Character's writings. Nothing is as it seems, right? Is there something here to consider?

I'm thinking (hoping) it's just their personalities shining through. For example, I haven't seen Gala_Teah make many grammatical/spelling errors.

I'm pretty sure this is in character. Remember, the majority of 8TSOC is made up of internet/blogging novices (refer to the initial LJ/VOX posts where several characters stress the idea that they're overwhelmed by the complexity of the sites).

I may need a trouting here, and I believe this is posted in the Press forum, but Jane did a nice interview with Gamasutra and gives some interesting thoughts on WWO in the last section.
