So, the games we can pretty much count on is Megaman (how we managed to overlook *that* little tidbit of coincidence...) and Zelda. Then there's the whole Star Control thing in dealing with Fwiffo.

In this case, what do the three have in common? What company made the games? When were they released?

Megaman was released on Dec 17, 1987 by Capcom for Nintendo and the NES.

Zelda was released on Aug 22, 1987 by Nintendo for NES. I believe it's Capcom as well.

Star Control, however comma, was released in July of 1990 by Accolade, Toys for Bob. Kinda throws the trend a bit. And that was the PC version. It wasn't ever designed for NES.

it does fit in with when Agent Powers would have been a kid. He would have been the right age to play all those games.

ohmygod I just read this entire thread. Interesting so far, but painstakingly slow. Does anyone know of an "official" gathering of players for this? There weren't that many emails sent to this new Fwiffo account sent by players. I think it's cool that they're putting these emails up though, even though it's not technically affecting anything. I was worried that by the time I got to the end of the thread it would be over, guess not. Why put those locked hard drives there if they can't open? Guess we'll just have to wait.

Who ever spotted the Japanese on the two posters, good job! Has anyone translated this yet? That's why I wanted to know if there's a specific blog/forum dedicated to this. It seems that the passwords are actually always in really obvious places, like ads and MySpace pages. I think you guys are looking really far into things that aren't actually all that complicated. It's pretty spoon-fed.

But if it keeps you occupied and happy, then go right ahead and keep looking for just about every scrap of anything everywhere. Good work with what you have found.

Whoa!

New survalience array has come online. Showing something from levels 6, 7, and....8? Since when is there a level 8? *EDIT* Sorry, the tunnels on the cameras seem to be side by side. Strange that they're only focusing on those three, no?

Also, the red hard drive is active! New television spot labeled Operation: Hungry Dragon - Counter-intellegence Television Spot 2. It's the next teaser for the movie.

There are also new e-mails from the other 'agents' in the e-mail box. Two of these show no subject matter.

They are comic books. Published by IDW who have been doing some amazing TF comics for years.

*EDIT* http://www.idwpublishing.com/news/tfmovieprequel2.shtml

Has details about the comic as well as some preview pages from the first 2 issues. Issue 3 should be available in 3 weeks or so.

March 30, 2007 -

Transformers, the feverishly anticipated sci-fi actioner from adrenaline-charged filmmaker Michael Bay, won't be in theaters for another few months, but you can watch an exclusive TV spot for the movie right now on IGN!

Check out the spot, entitled "Hidden," by following the link to our video page below. You won't see this clip online anywhere else and it won't debut on TV until later tonight.

The action-packed spot features a tease of Optimus Prime transforming and other never-before-seen moments from the upcoming blockbuster.

Our world will be transformed on July 4 when aliens make Earth their final battleground in Transformers, the live-action/CG adaptation of the popular comic and toy franchise. As the forces of evil seek the key to ultimate power, our last chance for survival rests in the hands of young Sam Witwicky (Shia LaBeouf).

UPDATE (17:05 on 3/30/07)!!! IGN Movies has now secured the second Transformers TV spot ("Destiny") which originally premiered at SectorSeven.org.

two new podcasts from Agent X. Nothing major at a first listen. Will do up transcripts later. There is a reference to a "man of the mountain and man of the ocean".

Ocean man is probably Michael Bay. Mountain man = Spielberg?

Well, podcast 6 says "look to the man who started it all, Hoover." as being the location of the S7 base. Which Hoover?

Hoover Damn?
J. Edgar Hoover?
President Herbert Hoover?

Also, he doesn't say "the man of the mountain and the man of the ocean," rather "the mountain and the man of the ocean." Paramount Pictures and somebody? Spielberg is the man who made Jaws, after all.

If it as AyeCapn says, wouldn't it be more of a reference to the original cartoon? I mean, Optimus and the Ark was trapped in the mountain, where as Megatron and his ship plummetted into the ocean (well, after the Predacons got ahold of it Wink.

Added: Yeah, Paramount and Dreamworks are co-producing the Transformers movie... so I am going to assume that "the Mountain" is a reference to the Paramount logo, which is a mountain. And... hrm... Bay = body of water = ocean? Capn's right! Smile

from the script we learn
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
the Hoover dam was really built to hide the allspark because it was the only way to mask the huge energy signature it gives off. Its also where the Megaman is being held
