Except it's not 7:47, it's 6:47. 18:47 to be precise. No specified timezone. That means, someone on the east coast looking at the video at 8:47pm(ET) will see a day count one higher than someone on the west coast looking at the same video at the same time (5:47pm PT). Once the west coast viewer's computer hits 6:47pm PT, the day count will increase.

It's a minor hiccup for suspension of disbelief due to the coding of the flash video.

Now that we are talking cyphers and stuff - remember some of the early emails had weird numbers in them.

One anomoly is that the quotes are 3 and 2 and instead of apostrophes they use superscript 1. Not sure what that means but it's got to mean something.

From: S7 security [security@sectorseven.org]
Subject: Prank e-mail

Sector Seven Industries would like to apologize for an e-mail you received earlier. We have a ŗprankster˛ among our staff who likes to use our resources for frivolous endeavors. Donšt worry, hešs been disciplined severely.

But since this dialog has been opened up, we would like to take a moment to clear up any confusion and assuage any doubt about our organization.

We are a new computer game company currently developing a multi-platform 1st-person shooter involving giant robots. Thatšs it. Therešs no government conspiracy. Giant robots arenšt real. And we certainly donšt have one in our possession.

Please ignore all future communications from our ŗprankster,˛ who likes to go by the hacker handle ŗAgent X.˛ If you receive any information from him, please let us know immediately. Hešs already on thin ice.

And just to be perfectly clear, the Earth is definitely not about to be invaded by non-biological entities. So therešs no reason to panic.

Are these characters just people trying to f**k about with this or are they actually the S7 people sent in to confuse us?

It's really kind of sad, Agentx2 drove almost everyone away from SSS because of his stupid antics. No matter how many times I've told him to control himself, he still acts like an idiot, despite the amount of damage he's causing. And he's definitely not an S7 plant...just a moron.

Agreed. Unfiction is probably the best place for out of game discussion.

On that, Megaman just owned up on buzznet. Pity really because I actually thought he was semi-decent at it. Shockwave and Thundercracker I suspected though.

Still, Soundwave/Starscream and Xfrompro are still possible NBE's, although they also could be random jackasses but I do suspect that atleast one has to be legit, otherwise it would not have rocked up in an email in one of the S7 site updates.

personally, the only people I remotely trust on SSS are the admins of the group. Ironically enough, the only content I trust has come solely from S7 to date.

deckruncharter (who fessed up to playing Thundercracker), started a thread over at SSS asking for known Sector 7 email accounts...

His first post mentions that he knows rsimmons[SPLAT]sectorseven.org is one... Is that a legitimate email address? I know it's not in the wikibruce...

He has this to say regarding Simmon's email adrress...
Quote:
I telneted their mail server and started attempting to send emails to asimmons[splat], bsimmons[splat], csimmons ... etc. Every email address returned back an Unknown user error, except for RSimmons.

And, if it's not asking too much, Thebruce, are you a member over at SSS? If so, what's your user name?

I sent an email to that address. It's probably legit, but we'll see.

Hello to discarding a possible link on one thing. Come on. The buzznet site was mentioned on the main sectorseven site, so while it may not be involved in the way it first appeared, don't ever dismiss a clue because it doesn't fit your opinion now.

Forums are always whitenoise. Always. That is a risk of playing a game on a forum, doesn't mean it's a bad idea. Still Gaemenm was a very convincing fake indeed. Ah well.
