not sure if this has been mentioned yet, but the reference to "part 2" taking place in 2012 caught my eye in relation to the ancient Mayan calendar.

the calendar itself is really complex and I don't fully understand it myself, but I do know that it predicts that the world will end in the year 2012.

(I got that from a History Channel special)

Actually, that's not strictly true but rather is a common misconception. The Mayan calendar completes its twelth baktun in 2012, but there's not really any firm evidence that they believed the world would end then. A bunch of authors have claimed that the Mayan's believed 2012 would mark some significant change in world order, but it's not really clear what that change might be. Some have gone further with theories about psychic awakenings, man-made materials all melting, grand transcendences of the global human spirit, and so on... but, IMHO, this is hippy pseudo-science at best and complete lunacy at worst.

A curse upon the History Channel for claiming non-evidence based conjecture to be fact. Confused

As for WI, it seems to have been reborn as an interactive story of some kind. My main feelings about most of the recent posts have been along the lines of "teh words! teh words!" and after everything that happened (boners etc) I don't have any particular desire to trawl through all of that to see if it goes anywhere interesting. Best of luck to you if you do though, and good luck finding another ARG to get involved in if not.

I didn't see this program on the History Channel, but I would like to think that they said that their calendar cycle ends in 2012, and that doomsayers like to use that as a target date for the end of the world. They did that to us in the year Y2K too, those darn doomsayers.

And here's a website i found which nicely explains the overlapping cycles in the Mayan calendar:

So who's ready to summon some demons?

Btw, that keratine disease that the blog described reminds me of that guy Doomsday, the one that killed Superman in the comics.

So, last night when I checked the site, I had all the lights off in the house. So I turn the monitor on, refreshed happycube, and was scared shitless by the words "you are not alone". Rolling Eyes

Couldn't tell you, but it appeared on the front page between three and eleven est yesterday. My guess is it had something to do with the 10th, seeing as something was supposed to happen.

New character(?)

Someone called "grandpayum" has posted a new thread over at HC. He's a Global Moderator.

This is what he's posted

Quote:
you are not alone

there's a light on in your closet

We can see you

you can hear me

We do not like the dark

it makes us angry

keep the light on in your closet

theembodiment is a bit busy at the moment, friends

we will be having all sorts of fun games until he's feeling better

now which one of you fine people want to see our face

which one of you can answer our question

Haha, the forums have become one big funhouse.

I just realized something. Masks are a recurring theme. We've got "The Masks We Wear", that warning about the winner wearing a mask, and now this guy preaching to us about removing our own "masks".

I didn't know I was a mod LOL. It doesn't look like they changed my email address either. There's already 3 pages on that thread I posted earlier. As usual, I'm late again.

EDIT: Holy f@ck! I was just reading the thread and clicked to go onto page 3 and it got deleted.

Well the threads gone now, but it was a wild ride while it lasted.

Edit: Nevermind, it's back.

1,2,3...JUMP! 1,2,3...JUMP! Anyone else feel like this?
