But these are two completely different phrases. Question

Quote:
"cout a fate a selcme ave"

"tout à fait le cinquième"

"tout" is very different from "cout", which is why I thought perhaps the word spoken was "ecoute" [pr: eh-koot] [means: listen]

When it was spoken, did it sound like "koot" or "kowt".

The "fait" in the written phrase is pronounced "feh"... the "T" is silent.

So if you heard "fate" it might be "fete" [pr: feht] [means: celebration/festival/party].

"cinquieme" is pronounced "sank-e-yem" which sounds nothing like the "selcme" you posted.

So I was wondering if you could post what you heard in a phonetic format? How did you hear "selcme"?

Sel-sa-may? Selk-me?

This was a relay call, the operator was reading to me what Kane was typing, the operator did not speak it like French. I was unprepared for the call and didn't even think to ask the operator to repeat it, spell it etc. From my best memory the pronounciation was
koot a fate a sell
and I dont' remember how the cme sounded that I wrote down but I think it had a K sound to it.
I thought it odd the way AVE was said, and he may have even said avenue becasue I remember thinking avenue immediately and may have written ave for short.

Edit : Also Kane never contacted me again last night like he said he wouuld - I sent him an email asking:
Who is Maria?
Does she have a web prescence?
How can Maria help us?
What are the vials?
What is the significance of the numbers 786162647200?

Too bad it wasn't a Canadian call/operator... Wink

French is compulsory in school for us up here, but if the operator was unfamiliar with it, then I could see her pronouncing fait as fate, so there really is no real way of telling which French word she was actually saying. That bites, because I've been trying to figure out which French word would yield a phonetic selcme to someone unfamiliar with French.... to no avail.

ETA: I'm not sure if a machine translator is being used or not, but the usual meaning ascribed to "tout a fait" is "Absolutely Yes!" (much like the English "Yes indeed!"), it's very much an agreement or reinforcer of "Yes". What was the email sent that preceded the initial "tout à fait le cinquième"? Maybe something will happen May 5th?

I don't know French, but perhaps the phrase the operator mangled was something like "tout à fait le cinquième à venu", ie. "definitely come on the fifth". That lends credence to the idea that it's a date. No clue on the numbers: I think we really need to figure those out.

New call from Kane

I received another relay call from Kane today April 24 at 5:55pm PST. This time I was not home and a message was left. If it is all possible for me to post the audio I will. The call went verbatim:

Quote:
Hello this is operator 14597 I'm with the I711 dot com relay service. I have someone on the line who'd like to leave a message and it reads as follows: "Hello Linda, this is Kane calling again and this will probably be the last time I will speak to you. VISCE has been dormant, but they are vastly repopulating ther clients. I will lead you and your friends, Linda, to the truth. In a few days, you will receive a package and you must figure out how to use it in your sole venture to the truth. I must go now, thanks for all you've done. May Maria guide you now." message ends, thank you for using I711 dot com and have a good day
