Vanir, not Ćsir

Vanir and Ćsir are the two warring group of Gods from Norse Mythology.

An idea just popped into my head, and with a few questions.
That rainbow is Bifrost Bridge, which Heimdall protects. So, could Heimdall Industries be protecting the passage way from our realm, Midgard, to the realm Asgard? And, does that mean that they have the/a Tanais Apparatus? Or is there another way to transport, maybe only to Asgard? Am I looking too deep? Does this make sense to anyone else?

Hermod DID say they were mainly into construction, so it'd make sense. The question is what do we do with that information?

Novomoskovsk mining operation to commence in April 2007

NEW YORK, NEW YORK -- April 15, 2007 -- HEIMDALL INDUSTRIES is pleased to announce the commencement of our Russian mining operation. Heimdall Industries has been granted permission by the Russian government to re-open a number of mine shafts which we believe contain a vast number of resources.

The mining operation will begin on Tuesday, April 17, 2007 and is expected to continue through May. The shafts are located in Novomoskovsk, Tula Oblast, Russia.

Further information as well as an update to our website will be posted soon.

The device could only work within a location with high levels of an unidentified "power source," however, which was close to the Russian city of Tula.

Tula Oblast is less than 25 miles from Tula, Russia on Google Maps, so it fits perfectly

Tula is the capitol of Tula Oblast, which is actually a region, not just one point on the map.

Maybe the "ghost in the machine" refers to something discovered in the technology used to defeat the Woden?

EDT: Or even teh Tanais Apparatus? I'm just trying to find any machine reference in the blog.

Just to add to the general fund of knowledge, in re the ghost in the machine reference.

A ghost in the machine has two main cultural historical references.

The first reference, and the origin of the term, is from Gilbert Ryle's criticism of Rene Descartes' mind/body dualism.

The second, and possibly more well known reference, is that of Arthur Koestler's book, The Ghost in the Machine. The title for the book is a reference to Ryle. Koestler's book is about man's tendency towards self destruction, with particular focus on the nuclear arms race. Koestler believed that, as the human brain developed, the more primitive sections of the brain still remained and at times overpowered human logic. These primitive brain structures are the aforementioned ghosts in the machine and are responsible for hate and anger, as well as love and happiness.

It's this second sense that I think is most relevant here. Considering what we have learned about Tanais Apparatus, perhaps ghost in the machine is a reference to Koestler's belief that we are bent on self-destruction.

These are all just brainstorms…since I'm not sure what to do with any of this info even if it were right.

The gods will destroy themselves and the world of men. Sol's in there to. Read the next, its about the aftermath of ragnarok:

Quote:
Barley will ripen in fields that were never sown. The meadow Idavoll, in the now-destroyed Asgard, will have been spared. The sun will reappear as Sol before being swallowed by Skoll, who will give birth to a daughter as fair as she herself. This maiden daughter will pursue her mother's road in the new sky.

Faroese stamp depicting the return of Baldur and HodurA few gods will survive the ordeal: Odin's brother Vili, Odin's sons Vidar and Váli, Thor's sons Móđi and Magni, who will inherit their father's magic hammer Mjollnir, and Hśnir, who will hold the staff and foretell what is to come. Baldr and his brother Höđr (who both died prior to Ragnarök) will come up from Hel and dwell in Odin's former hall, Valhalla, in the heavens. Meeting at Idavoll, these gods will sit down together, discuss their hidden lore, and talk over many things that had happened, including the events surrounding the final rise of Jörmungandr and Fenrir. In the waving grass, they will find the golden chessboards that the Ćsir used to own, and gaze at them in wonder. (None of the goddesses were mentioned in various accounts of the aftermath of Ragnarök, but there are assumptions that Frigg, Freyja and some of the other goddesses will survive.)

Two humans will also escape the destruction of the world by hiding themselves deep within Yggdrasil (some say Hodmimir's Wood) where Surtr's sword cannot destroy. They will be called Lif and Lifthrasir. Emerging from their shelter, they will live on morning dew and will repopulate the human world. They will worship their new pantheon of gods, led by Baldr.

There will still be many halls to house the souls of the dead. According to the 'Prose Edda', another heaven exists south of and above Asgard, called Andlang, and a third heaven further above that, called Vidblain; and these places will offer protection while Surtr's fire burns the world. According to both 'Eddas', after Ragnarök, the best place of all will be Gimli, a building fairer than the sun, roofed with gold, in the heaven. There, the gods will live at peace with themselves and each other. There will be Brimir, a hall on Okolnir ("never cold"), where plenty of good drinks will be served. And there will be Sindri, an excellent hall made wholly of red gold, on Nidafjoll ("dark mountains"). The souls of the good and virtuous will live in these halls.

The Prose Edda also mentions another hall called Náströnd ("corpse strand"). That place in the underworld will be vast: no sunlight will reach it; all its doors will face north; its walls and roof will be made of wattled snakes, with their heads facing inward, spewing so much poison that it runs in rivers in the hall. Here, oath breakers, murderers and philanderers will wade through those rivers forever.

Hvergelmir, and Níđhöggr, also a survivor of Ragnarök, will bedevil the bodies of the dead, sucking blood from them.

In this new world, misery will no longer exist and gods and men will live together in peace and harmony. The descendants of Lif and Lifthrasir will inhabit Midgard.

and about the logo of the 2 towers from Heimdall Industries, Odin lived in a tower. Odins tower was also an excisting and destroyed tower. Check http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Odin%27s_tower

I call dibs on a seat at the bar in Brimir! Laughing

Seriously though, I think what the new transmission is supposed to mean is that Heimdall has found Gungnir. This coincides with the press release from Heimdall Industries that they'll be digging for something in Russia. Perhaps Heimdall has followers as well, like the Eyes of Woden, and they run Heimdall Industries.

EDIT: After checking wikipedia, I see that the location of the dig is not very close to where the Tunguska Event occurred. My theory was that Gungnir may have been responsible for that event, but how would it have ended up so far away? Faced with that I'd have to say that's not the implication here.

If you'll pardon the double post...

Booya!

EDIT: The number in the upper left corner of the pic is 255b. Adding that as an extension on the address gets you here. It appears to be a message from Hermod's father.

Vindhlér --> when searching for this at wikipedia, you are automaticly redirected to heimdall!! this looks very important!!

Zephyr --> or Zephyrus, a Greek god, the god of the wind, messenger of the season Spring. Not sure what this has to do with it but we encountered greek gods earlier in this game so.

No, his father is talked about in the blog and is not Woden. Read back in the earlier entries.

Update to the front page of Eyes of Woden. Notice the little space invader under the enter button? It leads here.
