I'm sure it will be possible to play for anyone who's interested. I believe those of us who got packages got them because we're people who post and write and talk a lot about ARGs, so sending us a rabbithole was more or less guaranteed to get mentioned.

Houston, you say? I know I've given an address to GMD in the past (back in the WiBS days). I'll keep an eye out for a package myself...

EDIT: Horry chit, October! You mean there's another ARGer in Houston? I haven't seen anyone from around here posting since that one game that was centered in Houston

Yep, I'm in Houston! And so, so happy that I'm not the only ARGer in the city.

I think this one is now sufficiently vetted to be moved from rumors to its own arg tag...

I've been messing around with the images of the painting on the back of everyone's letters a bit and it looks like Addlepated's goes just to the right of Varin's, but I can't make anything else fit together yet...

I'm wondering if the first number in each clue that lists three is a page number (see above -- coincidence?) and the other two are word numbers?

Depending on whether you count "upper-earth" as one word or two, I get either "not" or "be," which doesn't help much, and "the" or "dream," the latter of which seems more promising...

I was thinking something along these lines, but more like Page, Row or Sentence, Word.

The words written in red on different pages - like Conflict, Peace, Difficulty at the beginning, etc. - are from the I Ching.

lol....Winnipegger Wink

I can tell you from experience, it takes a hella longish time for things to reach Canada from the States (compared to mailing things within them that is). I would guess if the same shipping method was used on the same day - tack another week onto it - if you're lucky.

Take it from the guy who is waiting for three different packages to get here via USPS/Canada Post -- expect delays. I have checked the mail already today (but the missus will check on her way home from work as well) and no packages yet.

Nice catch!

As for the numbers, I don't think they can be referring to words, as there aren't enough words on a line. They could be page, row, letter, though, which would yield 'n' for Difficulty at the Beginning (I Ching 3, btw) and 'i' for Conflict (I Ching 6; maybe these are the order for the letters?). The other pages apparently aren't available yet...

In case anyone needs more detail of this type of cipher: If its a book cipher, then the first is page number, second is either paragraph or line number, third is word number. An alternative is page number, word number, letter number, then assemble the letters.

I don't have the texts at hand, but don't think its the last because of
Quote:
SpaceBass
p. 395 Difficulty at the Beginning 335, 20, 25

there aren't too many words have 25 letters.

Also probably not paragraph number for the second because of
Quote:
Phaedra
p. 335 Conflict 95, 35, 11

not many will have 35 paragraphs on a page. So would check first page/line/word.
[edit] or per Celina's spec, page/sentence#/word# as yet another alternative.
