Right, Lovecraft was from Providence, described a lot of what he saw in the area in his stories (Arkham being his version of New England) and set a lot of his tales in the area.

Most significantly: He's buried there. His headstone inscription?

I AM PROVIDENCE

The knight postcard, is I believe St. George slaying the dragon, however, I have not been able to locate the piece yet.

It's actually another torn page, but you're right it does appear to be St. George:

The text on the other side seems to be about this image, which identifies the sculptor as Emmanuel Fremiet.

You're already in. Wink You don't have to sign up or anything - just stick around here and add your knowledge to the collective. There's also an IRC chat channel where people meet when they're not stuck at work or otherwise unable to chat - it's listed on the (I think) second page of the thread - #stfeline, isn't it?

This will be my first game to fully participate in, too. So much fun!

Just a quick question but...how did these guys find all your addresses? Confused

Also, dream symbolism of a 'garage' from here.

Quote:
Symbol: garage
To dream that you are in a garage signifies a period of inactivity and idleness in your life. You may feel that you have no direction or guidance toward achieving your goals.

To dream that you are pulling your car into the garage represents security and stability brought about by your accomplishments and efforts.

To dream that you are opening the garage door denotes that you have made a decision. You have decided on the path you will take in reaching your goals. On the other hand, if you are closing the garage door, then it suggests that you are putting off your goals for the sake of others around you.

I think the people who got parcels have all been active players in other games produced by the same PM team. They most likely gave their addresses out "in-game" on a past game. I have heard that PMs store that kind of stuff - it comes in handy later for rabbithole lures.

I was just about to post all mournful about not getting a package, not finding a google link on craigslist, when celina posted the non-google link for Kitchener. If I get a package this week (expecting late/slow deliveries), I'll be all squeee! Very Happy

The way I actually found the 2 Kitchener and Gainesville craigslistings was to look up some of our more active members and cross list their location with craigslist cities for April 13th. (All were posted to craigslist Friday the 13th of April). No idea why they don't show up when searching, while others do.

And I think the craigslist postings are definitely intended for those receiving packages. Kitchener and Winnipeg? Too much of a coincidence to be random recruiting.

Why the redundancy? Well they know we're snoopy, maybe it just gives us something to do while waiting for package contents to be posted? Maybe just to make sure everyone's on the look-out/same page? A consolidation of sorts - to make sure we can approximate how many pieces of the puzzle we should be on the look-out for?

Based on the (admittedly few) args I've played, New York gets very little love.

Having been on hiatus for a while, this looks fun.

P.S.: I'm allergic to cats, will that matter?

I didn't mean to imply that NYC never gets love, we most certainly do when it comes to live events (ILB, AotH, LCP, etc), I just expect us to get love all the time, as any self-respecting, self-centered New Yorker should Smile

I've just found out recently that I'm allergic to cats too Crying or Very sad

And yes, this does look like fun, hopefully I'll get to actually play this one.

Other New York Live events: Perplex City, Who is Benjamin Stove, and Monster Hunters Club. Oh and a listening party in Year Zero. I think New York has had the most live events of any city.

But, like bagsbee, as New York is the center of the media universe, I expect something to be held here every game. Wink

In brushing up on my Lovecraft history, I found this pull-quote in the wikipedia article (from "Call of Cthulu") and found that the irony amused me, considering what it is that we gather here to do - piecing together dissociated knowledge.

Quote:
The most merciful thing in the world, I think, is the inability of the human mind to correlate all its contents... some day the piecing together of dissociated knowledge will open up such terrifying vistas of reality, and of our frightful position therein, that we shall either go mad from the revelation or flee from the light into the peace and safety of a new dark age.

And like Lovecraft's characters, we too are inevitably compelled to piece things together.
