Rain? A New Zealand movie from 2002?

There are a number of movies with Rain in the title but I stopped looking at them when I got to "Black Rain" an 80s movie with Micheal Douglas which seems to be the epitome of pointless and awful films. He goes to Japan and can't eat with chopsticks...because he's a New York cop.

So I started to google movies with Sun in the title and I found this great clip of the moon crossing the face of the Sun on Feb 25, 2007. I post it here for your viewing pleasure.

Also mainly from hints and a wee bit of trailer watching that didn't really help much, is it Sunshine (that was released last Thursday it seems)?

Aha, got it this time! I remembered the movie but couldn't remember the name, but a google search of 'sci fi sun "escape pod"' got me there. It's the 2002 Solaris staring George Clooney as the troubled psychologist who goes to a remote space station after a cryptic message from a friend. Not a bad film, though seemed somewhat slow to me.

I'll just go fetch a new one now.

Yes. Sorry it didn't last longer Puppy.

I love this movie so much, glad no one has used it yet. Good job if you can place it from just this picture.

Mandalas -> Buddhism -> Seven Years in Tibet or Kundun?

Edit: Okay... so that's not a mandala. Koyaanisqatsi?

Gah, only 25 minutes! I used to be so facinated by that big machine thing with all the planets and things on it, so here's that and the awesome pupety climax because it's so awesome! You can hardly see the strings!

You're up Mikeyj.

Hooray! My favourite bit is where Jen and Kira are just walking through the forest and all the weird plants and animals are just happening around them. Brilliant!

Sticking with no live action:
