Goodness...did anyone else tear up while reading that? Come on, just a tiny bit? Er...no, me neither. *looks around suspiciously*

So. Let me see if I understand what's going on...
Beth meets with Marcus
Marcus tells her James disappeared after "retirement" and he knows nothing else
Beth gets file, looks through it
AI Man suddenly remembers all about Avery - he was responsible for erasing him from everyone else's memories (WHY?)
Beth e-mails Phil
The kids down the road go up to meet Beth
Beth recognizes Caesar as Jesse and tells him, nicely, that his parents are dead.
Caesar posts...
So...where are the Emersons/Nekodas in all this? Also, scratch?

[Edit] Ok...so Scratch says he met Jesse's parents. The Nekodas say they met someone who'd take them to their son. There we go. So...the Averys weren't killed, they became the Nekodas...? Then who on earth were the Emersons? They were too closely associated with Metacortex to be the Averys, people would recognize them too easily.... *very confused*
The plot's moving along. I'm loving this...

so i think i agree with the jist of this, but i'm not convinced that jesse's parents are necessarily dead. if you check out beth's email to phil here:

Then I looked up at him to say something and something was different. I mean he was the same but he had changed somehow. He knew this stuff. He knew James. He was responsible for, I suppose, cleaning up after James and Lynne, but something went wrong. I don't know what is harder for me to understand right now, that James and Lynne are dead and have been for some time or that a computer program had a responsibility to remove all traces of them.

the thing i want to note here is that beth believes that james and lynne are dead because "friend" told her that they were "collected" and have been for some time. but having made the connection between james -> emerson -> ethan -> dina -> jesse, i think it's pretty clear they are, or at least were until very recently, still alive. (up until the nov 18th ethan post: http://ethan.thenekodas.com/ )

[EDIT]ok, i was going to avoid mentioning this since it seems better suited for the wild speculation thread, but i realized i didn't address one of Omnie's comments:

[SPEC]something glitched when friend originally was supposed to collect and erase the averys, perhaps somehow sloppily mapping them into the emersons. [super-nestled-SPEC](he felt empathy for them?)[/super-nestled-SPEC] the newly-emerson'd averys are left with some awareness of this mapping, recognize that something bad is happening and could likely happen again and plant info around. then they get mapped again into the nekodas.[/SPEC]

i'll avoid the "wongo is either accidentally or intentionally deprogramming people" spec since people seem to enjoy painting him as a thoroughly bad guy. Wink
[/EDIT]

Hey, I actually made a contribution by finding the poetry generator! Hope it helps.
On a side note, am I the only one who reads this forum more than the ARG sites?

audio

the high-pitched noise may be used to simulate this:

if you close your eyes and block all of your senses out, then you can 'feel' a high-pitched noise similar to the high-pitched noise in the recording.

In the background, you can hear the hiss of a surveilance tape.

Im not sure what the rumbling noise is but ill try and figure it out.

the audio is, in the background, the hiss of a tape. there is the high pitched noise-feeling that you can get if you shut out all of your senses. if played slow, this file will play a collection of notes that may be from a song, or may be part of a code.

Thank you!! I always though I was the only one that had this, and I was never able to put it into words enough for other people to confirm that they experience it too Smile

It's nice to know I'm normal. Or at least as normal as the rest of you all Wink
