On http://ghostinthemachine.atspace.com/ page, there is morse code around the design on the white side of the wryd.jpg.

It is very hard to tell where the morse code starts and stops for each letter. It is also hard to tell which direction to begin from. Inside working out, or outside working in? It makes a difference because depending on which direction you go the morse code changes (Dot Dash, becomes Dash Dot).

I've deciphered it both ways, and here is what I got, though I am not certain that this is correct as some of the Dashes look like they could be two Dots close together.

Working from Inside out: ASTYAITHTAUTIETPADRENEATDER
Outside working in: REUTSEAERUNPASIDNMHDNQTSN

Again I'm not sure about this so if any one else would like to take a crack at it, go ahead and be my guest.

Edit: I should note that I had the jpg zoomed to 800% when I was trying to decipher the morse code. I'm not sure that that helped though.

Yeah, I tried that too, but I found it difficult to discern which were dots and which were dashes. The beginning of the top right hand side going down isn't too bad, and I really thought I was on to something, it becomes harder to differentiate as you go around the "drip?"...so I eventually gave up. Seems like if there are even a couple of unknowns, it screws with the whole string. And even then you'd have to know which way to read it if you even wanted to attempt to work out the different poshibilities -

But I could be wrong.....it happens....

....often Wink

Ok, clearly we're missing something. Heimdall Industries said they were starting the drilling project on tuesday...The specific mention of a date led me to believe we would get some sort of update. The fact that we haven't leads me to believe there's something big we're missing. But...of course, i have no idea what it is. So really, this post is quite useless. sorry! Dunce

So I'm pretty certain what we're stuck on is the winter.jpg image on Eyes of Woden, I mean it's just sitting there being all mysterious at us, but I keep getting this nagging feeling there's something else there in the wyrd image, like Grifter's Morse code idea.

I tried overlaying the two halves of the curve on top of each other to see if anything popped out, but it means nothing to me. (Attached image).

ETA: I just added odinanova to my AIM buddy list, maybe I can have a chat about that nagging feeling you get when you've missed something right on front of you next time he shows up.

I've been trying to figure out what the winter.jpg image could mean, but so far no luck. Anyone else heard anything new from this one?

Colour Profile?

When I opened the wyrd file in a development version of GIMP, it said that the file had an inbuilt colour profile, opening with the stable version just opens the file like normal.

This is the first time I've ever come across this. Would it be possible to hide information in a colour profile?

Yes I believe you are on to something. This is along the lines of what I wrote in one of my previous posts.

IMO, Both of them have references to colors.
255b = 255 blue on wyrd.jpb
Yg = Component green and the color spectrum on Winter.jpg

Just discovered this and spent some time reading up. Not fully up to date with the lore, but I know a reference to winter in norse mythology

As an herald to Ragnarok there will be a period of harsh winters with no summer between called Fimbulvinter (winter=vinter)

I allso thought about the picture of the rainbow bridge bifrost, it is not supposed to lead from Åsgard (asgard) to vanaheim but from Åsgard to Midgard (the home of the humans.) And the text saying Vanir not Æsir, are we looking at the wrong end?
The good dr. obviously traveled to Vanaheim. The only thing is that Alfheim and Vanaheim sometimes refer to the same area in norse mythology.
And the gods often travel to Jotunheimen (an actuall mountain region in norway by the way.) So I guess travel between the areas is possible, and that they all dont have to go by Midgard.
As of the rest, it fits nicly if we regard the Æsir as the "shadow court". The entire story fits with the mythology regarding the war between the Æsir and Vanir. It to ended in a stalemate and hostages where exchanged. Njord (god of the sea) Frøy (agricultural fertility) and his sister Frøya (love and fertility) where sent from the Vanir.
As of the Odina, Odina Vetus and eyes of wodan I am not sure. But the ravens have been mentioned (norwegian military intelligence fittingly use them as a symbol)
The Valkyrie is closely linked to Odin and the preparation for Ragnarok, since they are tasked with gathering the fallen in battle and taking them back to Vallhall. They will constitute the army in the final days.
The Hammer might be a reference to Mjølner (mjolnir). There is a story og how the hammer was stolen by the jotne Trym who wanted to marry Frøya (who is the most beautifull of the female gods). But Tor (Thor) disguices as Frøya using two rocks for "implants" together with Loke (Loki) as a bridesmaide. They demand the hammer as a bridal gift on the wedding, and needless to say when Tor gets his hands on the hammer Trym does not get the wedding night he hoped for.

The hammer is made by the dwarfs Sindre og Brokk and is a gift from Loke

[edit]
I am also completely new to ARG, just read in EDGE of the perplexity winner (old april issue I think)

Any Progress?

Has Anybody made any progress? I have been trying many things but nothing has born fruit, it has been, so to say, entirely fruitless, and I am out of ideas. The only thing I can really add is that Yg is also base64 for b, in case that helps anyone at all in decoding the winter.jpg
