I won't have a package coming, but I couldn't resist answering this one. Hmph.

Dearest BA,

The crowd. I had to go, it was too late. I walked and found the Chinese parade, full of dragons. I had to go deep underground for my friends, but did reach them later.
I still need the others.

We'll see you later.

>You: Standing off away from the crowd.

>Me: Tapping you on the shoulder.

I've expanded the list to 15, assuming the order of the iChing is the correct order, and added additional info from the latest scans:

1) R = 5, 1, 6
2) ??
3) R = 335, 20, 25
4) E = 175, 5, 3
5) ??
6) I = 95, 35, 11
7) ??
8 ) ??
9) G = 35, 35, 26
10) ??
11) ? = 55, 14, 2
12) ? = 245, 3, 10
13) ??
14) ??
15) ??

I think there is a mistake in the 3rd one. I think the letter should be N but I may be wrong. I think this should be the 25th letter on the 20th line on page 335 which starts "shall swim out to that brooding reef ..." making the 25th letter N.
Should we be counting spaces or not ?

I'm on a Mac at the moment, and nothing looks virusy to me (that is, I haven't gotten any), except that it's kind of lame and full of weird spam links. I guess I'll check it when I get back to my (well protected) windows machine.

This probably is just a hijacked website, but recall that the Dilbert comic I got was about viruses (specifically, Catbert advocating the creation of a virus for the purpose of selling an anti-virus), and 2600 being a hacker periodical puts that also in the realm of viruses.

Anyway, I'm not very optimistic that there's something really worth looking at on this website, but beyond that, I'm just curious -- does anyone know a how a website gets commandeered to that extent without its creators being complicit? I seem to recall a virus from a couple years ago that infected Microsoft servers and forced them to append malicious javascript to any request, so is that what this is? There's a ton of junk in the code, including a whole mess of unescaped stuff that escapes to even more spam and virus-related document.writes, so maybe something like that is how all this got on the page to begin with.

Hey PMs! You have at least two (and one ex) South-Africans playing this game. And a Brit. I feel that it would only be fair to send out some care packages.

What, do only Americans die in creepy flame-filled cities now? :p

ex- South African, current Canadian, living in Lyon, France for a bit. Do I get a package for each country? Wink

Hi, I'm also South African, why don't the arg administrators send me a package to Stellenbosch Wink

... please?

I thought so too (check my post), but thought I'd just miscounted. Yeah, I'd definitely say to ignore spaces and punctuation, as that's pretty standard in book codes.

So if it is N then should/could someone update the info on the wiki

You can do it! I'd keep the current letters in there as well, though, in case we're wrong.

Before y'all spend too much time looking for a connection in the I Ching numbers. With regards to this sequence:

Quote:

1) R = 5, 1, 6

The list you're using is incorrect, the sequence is 45, 1, 6.

Edited to add a Smile

There is definitely at least a javascript virus in the base page. I didn't go any farther than that.

The New Jersey Package Contents

O, I'll update the WIKI shortly. But here is the contents of the New Jersey Package.

http://members.tripod.com/~terrorpants/feline/bseeingu.htm

Tried to keep the images high rez, so sorry for the slow load for those on Dial-up.

I'll give a full intro of myself later. Have been getting a flaky connection to the internet today. Too much rain here...

Did anyone else notice the Fingerprint impressed into the Black Enamel on the coin where the cat is?

There is a partial fingerprint.

Also, did anyone check out the official registar of the bseeingu.com site?

It is listed as Eldrich Errors.com

Thanks Greg!

letter:
Quote:
Have you ever thought about the line between reality and fantasy? I've always believed that is where madness lies, but I'm no longer sure of that. The past few weeks, my dreams have seemed so very real. It's always in the same place - a dark place where ravenous birds fly above a city destroyed - floating on the fear and misunderstanding that fills the air. You are part of the exodus, walking away from it and leaving the city behind forever. If you haven't found them yet you must. This may be the path to madness, but trust me when I say that nothing has even seemed more real.

Seeing you,
B

and pages:
* 2600: p53/54 (Singapore Library Mischief?)
* Supernatural Horror in Literature: p145/146 (supernatural spook, though spook's circle isn't quite in line)
* The Shadow Over Inssmouth: p315/316 (Holding Together 345, 25, 19)
* The Shunned House: p125/126
* Monsters of the Sea: p69/70 (sea serpents)

Huh, that's very similar to my letter. (And mine didn't mention the birds, but they were in my watercolor.)

Are we seeing similar pairings with others? Because that redundancy, then, would suggest that the contents of the letter are important, if the PMs wanted to make sure that we got them even if someone who got a package didn't tell anyone.
