 		Nice solve, everyone. I hate that I don't check the websites for half a day, and then I miss all of this action. I'm glad that the adventure is still going. Should someone tell Red about Smith's employer?

Looks good to me! I like postern as a word better (back or secret entrance!!) but you're right, it makes as much sense to use Preston as it does Gordon.

And yes i did mean Hegemony.. dumb ole keyboard making me put that typo in there!! Bad keyboard! Bad Keyboard!

But I like your final answer better! Way to go! so now "Tell Red"!

Some things we're doing in this game dont make a lot of street sense to me, but then I'm a 'noob' to ARGs so what do i know......, but basically yes, we're relaying stuff between Red and WiR.

I do not recall a Preston or Gordon so far... and unfortunately those names are so common, trying to google-snoop is impossible.

The 4 E's were interesting. And weaponry and willpower too. hmmm.

ETA: what I dont understand about it is... if it was Tonio that was shot in front of Red (by a man in black... we are presuming it was Smith/Q), and there was a note from Mario to Smith in the briefcase telling him to make it look like an accident, does that mean Mario had his brother killed by a CIA agent?

 		My understanding of the initial incident was that someone shot John Q. Smith in front of Red, and that Smith gave Red the briefcase just before he died which got this all started. Subsequently, we have figured out that it was Tonio who shot Smith.
Smith was apparently hired by the Pinelli family (Tonio in particular) to carry out a hit. My best guess is that the Woman in Red was the target of this hit, and the reason that Smith was shot is that he failed to carry out this assignment.
Does this sound correct?

ok, i just re-read this and your version sounds correct. I was interpreting the last "he said" as to being from the man in black because the shot man was holding a gun on him (in his left hand).

 		The Pinelli website post seems to have 2 separate messages.

The first is made of letter in bold:

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
The spell out "oenthRIty" which I think means that Red will be online at one-thirty on Friday.


The second is the string of q's and a's.

If you replace the q with 0 and the a with 1, you get a string of binary which decodes to: http://colorado.indymedia.org/newswire/display/12358/index.php


I'm not sure what to make of this new website and I have no idea what Red's AIM would be. Any ideas?

The most obvious thing that stands out is the list of countries with "CTICs (Counterterrorist Intelligence Centers)".

I'm sure but couldn't find it, that a previous post had a map which had marked and joined up the locations of Q's travels.

The other thing is the list of CIA fronts, anyone see anything here that could indicate Redford's position.


Being new to this ARG lark, I don't really know what I'm looking for.

 		Any progress from anyone? I emailed the woman in red to try to confirm that the time given is in the California time zone, and to see if she would give any clues about what the AIM name would be.
Unfortunately, I will be unable to chat with Red on Friday. Is anyone else planning to talk to him?

 		I will chat with Redford if necessary(4:30 my time, right?), though I'm probably not the best for that job as I haven't been playing the game as closely as some others. But regardless, we need to get ahold of his AIM name. Think it's something simple? (Redford, RedfordLewis, Redford_Lewis, etc.)

 		this is probably completely unimportant, but I received an email from WIR the other day. was in response to a message I sent her just trying to keep in touch. i think i muttered something about her being cryptic, and how many movies there were referenced so far:

 		Regarding tomorrow's online meeting with Red, I just received this email from the Woman in Red.
