Kenco, i dont really understand how your placentas have moved 1cm but you say you havent got the plunger half way? It is my understanding that the 3rd ball must be released to get the placentas 1cm apart.

Where do you live? If its in south wales area i will open it for you. Either that or email me and i will try my best to help without giving too much away. rhyslewis13SPLATgmail.com

 RE: WHY?
LOL

Why is somebody willing to post on a forum about something that he/she does not posess and clearly has no interest in? If you are that bored maybe you should buy an ISIS, or is it you my friend that is better off with your book and hot choccy. lol Laughing

about copyrights...

Hi,

the statement about copyrights is not right (i think)
as a first copyrights and patents are two different things.

There is no rule against photographing a patented mechanism, you are only prohibited to build AND MAKE MONEY on a patented thing.
in your own house you can do what you like

Copyright can only exist on a creative work, Which the image of an open ISIS is NOT

then you have trademarks: "the name" of a company or brand, which can only be used if you attribute it to the rightful owner (or you havepermission.

disclaimer:
I am not a lawyer, do not even play one on internet Smile
so the above could be wrong.

in my opinion posting a phot and dtailed diagrammes of opening the isis is not unlawful.
it could however be spoilng the fun for others.

getting philosophical:
I think everybody who can type a message here on the forum is intelligent enough, and should be given the credit: that when they ask for a spoiler, they won't complain when they get it. Just warn the innocent reader.

Tom

rusty13, i have never used the third ball to get the placentas 1cm apart. ever. im only aware that you need the third ball after that step to go any further but i cant work out if isis has to be 1cm apart when you release the third ball or not because of the line up. as i dont use third ball to open i dont care but it may be good to know when i advise others.

two important things to consider are.

i think there are only ever 2 balls not three as all the times i have opened it i have not seen any 3rd ball or used three balls to open it.

when open i cannot find any reason that you would need the plunger in a set direction to open the isis.

can anyone who knows that im wrong please explain it because i think its really out of order to newbies if we are supplying them with wrong information all the time.

ok, ive opened my isis about 30 times and i know the mechanism inside out, you are not required to move the placentas 1 cm apart, there is a 3rd ball bearing in the top half of the ball which is held by a magnet, this is why you need to bang it, the reason you dont use the 3rd ball bearing (number1barber) is because you are using the second method of opening it, yes there is more than 1 way

er lukey_boy dont understand your post.
i think the drop in of the 3rd? ball will not work if the holes inside are not lined up. my question was whether the holes line up when isis split 1cm apart or when it isnt. your answer was "not required to move the placentas 1cm apart" is that meaning holes lined up when isis as normal or when 1cm split? it dosent really matter to me but it might help others to know.
pretty much everyone knows about the magnet but you should have used a spoiler text when you wrote it. dont get your point about me not using 3rd? ball bearing because if i dont open it with it, its a bit obvious to everyone that there is more than one way but thanks for stating it anyway.

anyway to the subject in hand. has anyone stripped an isis as there is only 2 balls in mine.
does plunger direction matter for any reason because it dosent in mine.
please note that if anyone knows the line up for 3rd ball please post a spoiler for others as im sure that it affects the 3rd/2nd ball.
i could check but sick of banging isis to keep reopening it

Nearly there! :D

Hey all. Been reading this for a while, finally got some help from the number1barber.

Right so I have my placentas lined up after turning the bottom half a full 360 degrees clockwise. It is now locked up but will move anticlockwise about 50mm.

Any help?

Cheers

coxy try turning it back abit anticlockwise and hitting it serial side down on a hard surface until you hear a clunk then continue clockwise. may take a bit of banging but its either that or restart whole lot again

ok when do you whack ball is it when placentas are aligned or 1cm apart and do you whack it before or after plunger goes in half way?

Well

I had the placenta (SP) apart yes.

shake it violently. Repeatedly whack it on ur palm and it shud become loose. just twist slowly. it shud come free.

I didn't even use the pluger and the middle symbol twister does f all. just has a small sliver thing behind it that makes it click.

there is more than one way of opening the isis, the intended way.....or the unintended way.

These two methods are getting mixed up badly here.

Everything you need to open it is somewhere on the forum now.

Best of luck everyone.

 isis clues
removing the maze

Confused number1barber..open your isis ..put the plunger half* to the side..take a small screwdriver and attempt to pry the cover off of "the maze"...the whole "maze assembly" will come out of the bottom half ..revealing your missing balls Embarassed no pun intended...or a small hook of sorts into the middle hole of "the maze" also removes the whole thing ..and the other "area" previously discussed* holds the 3rd ball....if you opened your isis without 3 balls ,you jarred it open ,you did not solve it open, any monkey can open a glass jar by smashing it open...the 3rd ball is what avoids the harder whacking....for me knowing when the 3rd ball is in position is hard but you WILL know when your unlocked
the clue that number1barber gave me that helped the most was "follow the clues" he told me to whack it hard to unlock after the small move of the circles on the gold rings,,ya,when its locked like that ,you turned it the wrong way....start over...most likely it wasnt even unlocked when you turned it . when i opened my isis it had "the wrong key" in it ..they sent me a new one that the usps lost and i am now waiting on e new "try" to get me the right key for my isis..believe that B.S. ..oh and i have "the gyre"..great trick...ickle pickle magic produces a copy of this called "chained" for you americans like me
the step by step instructions to open your isis is in your hand(clues)
no force what so ever is involved to open this puzzle (after a palm slap reg. numbers down)
thats about all i have to say about that Razz
