ahhh... new email at byebyepowers:

Simmons, May 1, 10:49MST wrote:
As of now, we're initiating protocol HK9233: no electronic correspondence. This protocol will remain in effect until you receive the all-clear. I'm sending out an e-mail from "the company" explaining the shutdown to our "customers."

Simmons

Regarding that new email from Sector 7, if you log into the Sector Seven mainsite (with the BYEBYEPOWERS PW) You'll notice a new email from Simmons detailing protocol HK9233 "No Electronic Correspondence" and the email he's sent out to "customers" explaining the shutdown

So yeah it's official

*edit* Should have known Bruce would get there first Smile

Well, something new, though I don't know if/how it ties in to Sector 7...

go to www.chevy.com - they have a new promo game.

I went through and attempted to register, but there are some bugs in the code, so I register, and I'm in, but there's an error code at the top of the page... if I log out, I can't log in again... unless I register, with an unused email address.

Assuming I'm in, no one's really playing yet (it just launched this morning), but there's a 'code' game to unlock upgrades for your transformers... the puzzles look like fun - though I can only get to the first code puzzle. I spent an hour or so and decoded it, found the answer, but I can't enter the code unless I'm a resident of the USA. Cursing Bang Head Censored

So I can't get to the next puzzle. I tried a dummy registration, and it booted me back to the login screen. again: Bang Head

Here's a tip for those of you who actually can participate:
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
the first puzzle is two parts, both are substitution cyphers. The 2nd half is the pointer to what I'm guessing is the encryption key, but the destination URL requires a login, so I had to manually solve the 1st substitution cypher. Neither are too difficult.

The 'answer' is retrieved by doing a series of instructions at a certain location.

stoopid US only sweepstakes again... bah!

All that said, I didn't see anything that seemed connected to Sector Seven... but if there is something, and it's embedded in the game somewhere I can't get to because I'm in Canada, then y'all have got to go and make us proud!

I was at least hoping to be listed as the first code solver there. *sigh* I mean really... sweepstakes I can understand restricting to US residents, but blocking out the fun of a game too? And having buggy code to boot? bah! Developers, get on it and fix it!

So you have already decoded this?

So is this the start of a heightened flow of info or the end of the trickle we've had so far?

Yish... but I can't submit the code because I can't register for the sweepstakes. (and if I log out, I have to re-register because I can't log in again, and I have to use a new email address)

quite frustrating

I don't think there will be another code until tomorrow...

I was reading through the prizes and isntructions, and something interesting hit me... I registered with a fake US address so I could enter the code... but apparently, the first person to enter the code not only unlocks the upgrades for everyone, but it's only the first person to enter the code that wins a prize.
If I'm not eligible to win prizes, then I just took the first day's prize Razz.
What's more interesting, is the prize was the promo code for the family movie ticket pack of 4, from fangango.com - which appears to also serve Canada. Unfortunately, no theatre near me sells tickets online, so I can't 'redeem' the code, and I considered using the code for the Transformers movie at a theatre in Toronto which is supported at fangando, but they don't have listings for July 4, that far in advance, yet... Confused

So now I have this promo code that I can't use (yet), and I don't know if anyone else will win a prize if they also enter the code...

I think the handling/separation of game and sweepstakes is a little sloppily handled...

Not sure how many days this is going for, but the # of deceptcon 'matches' went from 900K+ to 600K+ after entering the code, for me at least. And with each code belonging to a larger cypher, supposedly, there's a bigger puzzle to solve over the long run...

And yet, I still see no direct tie-in with Sector Seven. *sigh*

fixing some bugs, mayhaps?

Or maybe fixing my 'win', hehe

either they're watching this forum, or they paid attention to an email I sent regarding the bugs/inability for non-USers to play... or they found it all out themselves.

Or maybe, this is all part of the plan... maybe the decepticons really are attacking!

well if your not using it

In my gimped out state I could use a nice relaxing trip to the movies, I would be more than happy to take your "winning tickets" if you cant use them, I know several theaters near me that would take them Wink just a thought.

NOw, anyone else pre-order the TRANSFORMER game, I reserved the Playstation 3 version already, got me a nice poster to go with it, Also cant wait for the 2 (TWO) NIntendo DS titles, and to top it off....I finally got my DECEPTICON tattoo. its on the back of my calf, it looks awsome although IF ONE MORE PERSON ASKS IF ITS THE BATMAN LOGO i'm gonna brain them with my crutches.

COME ONE DREAMWORKS...start rolling out more trailers and tv spots!

p.s. Dogs Barking can't fly without umnbrella's.
