Violet Underground - Plumbing Puzzle [Solved] The first puzzle of Season 2 is upon us. In case anyone hasn't seen it yet, head on over to www.violetunderground.com to hear about Violet's plumbing situation.
Then be ready to piece together her apartment building. Here's my analysis so far:
Plan 5: The basement
Plans 6,7,11: floors of the building
Plan 2: ground floor
Plans 1,3,9,10: Outside walls of the building
Plans 8,4: interior walls
Plans 1,3: Front and back of building
Plans 9,10: Sides of building
I call the side of the building with the entrance the Front (West Caldera Street)
However, I have no idea how they fit together. Plus, I'm at work and can't really print everything and try to tape it all together. So it's up to you guys.
If I think of anything else, I'll post it.
Also, sorry if this is in the wrong place.

I e-mailed Violet the solution (I hope it's correct!), and got this response:
Violet Kiteway is not answering her keymail right now. There's a small possibility she's travelled through a hole in the spacetime continuum to a new world, but it's more likely she's just asleep.
If you can't wait that long to hear her voice or read her words, go to http://www.violetunderground.com/ for a quick fix.
Hope I got it right. Here's a key to the plans if you need a hint:
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
plan1 - rear (north) side as viewed from outside
plan2 - ground floor
plan3 - front side as viewed from outside
plan4 - middle east/west wall, as viewed from the south
plan5 - basement
plan6 - 1st floor
plan7 - 3rd floor
plan8 - middle north/south wall, viewed from the left (west)
plan9 - left (west) side side as viewed from outside
plan10 - right (east) side side as viewed from outside
plan11 - 2nd floor

So is e-mailing Violet the only way to submit the answer? I tried a minute ago and got the same reply.
What a labyrinth of pipes! Personally I think the plumber should be fired! But I like this puzzle...
Anyway, am I correct in deducing Violet's flat is:
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
#10, 2nd floor front right??
and that maybe the leak is coming from:
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
flat #13, 3rd floor back right??
assuming that:
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
I am counting the times the pipe passes through each flat and not number of flats has water from it?

lizziec, I plugged through this one with pen and paper, and I got the same answer as you. I have no idea how to verify if it's correct, but I think we're right.
The weird thing is that I live in an apartment building with a layout nearly identical to Violet's! We have 14 apartments -- 2 in the basement and 4 on each of the three floors above it. Our numbering scheme is slightly different, though... and I hope our plumbing isn't nearly as convoluted!

Gah, how do we always end up with two threads? Anywho, the other thread in General/Updates has the same answer and a very cool animated gif, and I'll agree too. That was fun but now I just want more.

Because there aren't any well defined boundries on where story puzzles should be solved. Oh wait....

Whoops. We are quite skilled at the whole 'two threads about the same thing' aren't we? It has been a while to be fair. Maybe next time it happens we should jump on it straight away and point to the puzzle thread, directing all puzzle discussion to there. We do have this section for puzzles so best to keep it clean and tidy I guess.

I agree. I think the threads about this sort of thing should be in the puzzles section. It's where I first thought of looking for the discussion about this!

Tbh it always happens, even when we direct people to a puzzle forum thread one or two people will still post puzzle answers in the general section. I will just whip up a post in the general section saying that puzzles will be here, see if it helps.
