Regarding "The Eights"

I'm drawing blank on The Eights in plural, but "The Eight" can be tied to a bunch of things.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Eight A group of artists

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Letter_of_the_eight A letter written by the prime ministers for eight members of the European Union concerning Saddam Hussein.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Eight_%28novel%29 A book by Katherine Neville.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/G8 The Group of Eight G8

http://www.genocidewatch.org/8stages.htm The eight stages of genocide.

None that seem to fit though... Rolling Eyes

Could it be reffering to this?

I don't know how reliable the site is, but I found this googling "the eight" and nephilim..

The eight knights that founded the knights templar seems plausable as well. Shocked

8 seems to be an important number throughout all of this. The scottish knights templar have a 8 pointed cross (basically the Maltese Cross) as their emblem, there were 8 origional knights, 8 people will be saved.

I have sent an email about 2 hours ago to the email adress on the original note. Still no reply yet, but I will post it here when I get one.

I am gonna see if those letters each sentence uses, bring something up on the anagram generators. I tried it before without luck, because there are simply too many letters.

You guys are amazing!! Very Happy I learn a lot of interesting stuff just watching you brainstorm one idea or another.

If anyone can solve that riddle, then it's you!

On the other hand, I don't think that the originator of the mail was counting on pros like you so maybe we oversee the most simple solutions? After all, the mail was probably sent to average MMO players (like me) so the solution must be there, easy to find. Question

Good point! And If this is a for MMO then until we figure out what game its from, or will be for, we might not get much further as their might be more clues in those games, or community?

Who are the Eight?

Been reading through this thread, as it really caught my attention, and so I decided to do some research.

I've been trying to Google a few combinations and all I've found was some of what had already been posted:

2012 - end of the world, prophecies of destruction, illuminati assumming power

Fourth Age - different books, one dealing with prophecies and related to books with Dragon in the name (Seven Spokes)

Now I am looking up the eight...

Now this was interesting, I found that in Daoism, there are Eight Immortals:
1. Zhong Lijani - Chief of the Immortals
2. Zhang Guo Lao - believed to have magic powers so he can make himself invisible
3. Han Xiangzi - Patron of Music
4. Cao Guojiu - Emperor's brother-in-law and the patron of actors
5. Lan Caihe - Patron of Chinese florists
6. He Xiangu - Only Female Immortal, represented carrying a lotus, symbol of purity
7. Lu Dongbin - Patron of scholar, uses his superhuman powers to kill dragons and transform objects
8. Li Tieguai - Most Beloved of the Immortals, patron of Chinese herbal doctors

No idea if this relates

Also, there are now only eight planets in our solar system.

Eight again

Quote:
The Group of Eight ( G8 ) is an international forum for the governments of Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Russia, the United Kingdom and the United States. Together, the eight countries represent about 65 percent of the world economy.[1] The group's activities include year-round conferences and policy research, culminating with an annual summit meeting attended by the heads of government of the member states. The European Commission is also represented at the meetings.

Each year, member states of the G8 take turns assuming the presidency of the group. The holder of the presidency sets the group's annual agenda and hosts the summit for that year. The presidency for 2007 belongs to Germany, which will host the 33rd G8 summit in Heiligendamm from June 6 to June 8.

Very Happy
Can I ask which MMO you play, and on what forum the sender could have gotten your adress? Have you tried asking if others visiting that forum/playing that MMO have recieved the same mail? it would be interesting to know if this is has been targeted at MMOers only or not.

And I have also sent a mail to the adress from the original letter and will post here if I get any kind of answer.

Well, Shadowbane has had a War of Darkness it seems (http://chronicle.ubi.com/The+Master+Timeline.php - The Age of Days, Year 105)

There also appear to be a number of "ages" in the game. That site says 5 although I only see 4, so maybe that's our 4th age? :/

Could Shadowbane be the game that's supposedly been created based off of this 'real' info?

The hints found and posted so far would lead to a more "modern" or "post modern" type of MMO though. Maybe even a gothic or horror kind of game.

This looks cool. I'm in!

This probably isn't it, but on the subject of MMO games, Uru Live (or Myst Online, as we're supposed to call it now) is about to begin a new system of episodic games. There's always been an ARG nature to Myst, some have even refered to it as an ARG. The company that makes the series, Cyan, claims that the D'ni civilization is real, and they're just making games about it. There's even an employee, Richard A. Watson (RAWA) whose position is "D'ni Historian". So, it could be likely that they'd launch an ARG about it.

Just my thoughts, which are most likely wrong.
