ok, I don't want to say this, as it takes away from the realism of the game, so i'm gonna spoiler it.

violet.

trust me. I checked Razz

ok, i've been discussing the second canto with Brackin... he as well thinks that he was wrong when he said Esau. So the fourth name is actually "Cesar".

the other thing is it isn't spelled like "roman emperor" Caesar, but more like, "Cesar Chavez" Cesar. This is kind of wierd, as the name "Cesar" is of spanish descent, not roman, like the rest of the names. I pointed out this flaw, and Brackin returned this email:

Hmm... perhaps the key is not in the words themselves but in the
letters used!? Lets work up the letters actually used in the names and
see what we come up with.

Just remember, I want in there too unless you're able to clean it all out and bring it to a secure location!

By the way, I keep meaning to tell you I love your avatar!

I am sure this is irrelevant but I thought I would post some observations here. Earlier, someone wrote that Theo had said it might have something to do with the letters when talking about Caligula, Agustus, Cesar, and Cane and I noticed on the caffeindedrip website that the original copy was sent with "TRACI- Get this out TODAY pls! - Alex," unless I am mistaken. Because TRACI is an unusual spelling of Tracey and it was followed by "Get this out," I was wondering if anyone had tried taking out those letters T.R.A.C.I. and/or T.O.D.A.Y. in any part of the message (like with the four notable men in history). I played around with it for a short time tonight but found nothing but I don't know much about the game yet. Also did anyone else notice that the D in daughter was in caps?

New Folio Page?

I know that part of this has been posted in another area, but I think it's more appropriate here considering that it pertains to the collection of the folio.

Under the ad posted on March 31st, there was some morse code. I decided to check if there were other ads with morse code, and sure enough, this is what I found:

Tuesday, Feb. 24
-.. . ..- ... / . -..- / -- .- -.-. .... .. -. .-
deus / ex / machina

Wednesday, Mar. 11
... --- -.. .- .-.. .. - -.-- / ..-. --- .-.. .. --- / .--. .- --. . / .. -. / ..-. .-.. .-
sodality / folio / page / in / fla

Tuesday, Mar. 31
.-- . ... - / .--. .- .-.. -- / -... . .- -.-. ....
west / palm / beach

So, anybody live in Florida, going to visit Florida, or got any contacts in Florida (preferably near West Palm Beach)?

Also in the forum for that day, Theophilus mentioned that he preferred the East Coast, another hint at Florida.

Though I believe a quarter of them are kept at the Vatican, so that's 50 out the way...

I'd be willing to go to the vatican if several people are willing to bankroll me. I'd need my travel and lodging covered. I'll cover the rest. Even if we can't convince them to let go of the originals, I could still get transcripts.

anyone willing to help?

And the race is on! Foo posted the pictures on his blog, so the first person to get to Adler's book "A Second Look in the Rearview Mirror" at the Palm Beach Atlantic College library in West Palm Beach gets a shiny new folio piece. And no, I have no qualms with neglecting to use spoiler quotes on this. The address is on the cover of the book.

Before someone goes out, we should look over the "full package" Adam just sent me. I'm attaching it here with the text of his message.

Quote:
Its strange - Foo seems to have focused in on the one minutia of the
package that matters. Or has he? I took photos and sent them to
Brumguy before sending him the package - it's how he convinced me to
send him the objects proper - a deception that I will never forget. I
knew that Nero was a visiting professor at PBA, but I had hesitated to
delve further for personal reasons. The fact that the folio page could
have been hidden by him and clues left by means of those photos
inserted in the book's pages - never occurred to me. But I feel that
you are right. Now we MUST collect the page before Foo! Who do we know
that is loyal and in that area? I would go but - well it's too close
to home.

Okie just to make sure we see everything I've listed what I see from each photo. If someone else sees something different, please add it. I just want us to have all the info we can get, before deciphering the clues. (Photo 1-5 are the five photos in alphanumerical order)

Photo 1:
A collection of objects: A plaster skull, a CD, a speedmarker, a key, a picture of nostradamus, a (lithium) batery, 12 coins, 6 white glass beads, 1 dark glass bead, some piece of cloth.

I have no idea what this means.

Photo 2:
The cloth, coins, beads, key and battery from before

Photo 3:
The first pages of a book. Something uninteligably written in pencil on the left sheet. On the right sheet it says "Mio caro Antonio Chavigny, il giorno della nostra unione. -Elisabeth" which translates into "My beloved Antonio Chavigny, the day of our union. - Elisabeth" (possibly should be "on the day..." but that's what babelfish came up with)

A gift for "Chavigny" (who ever he is, must be the guy from the folio page?) likely from his wife Elisabeth.

Photo 4:
This appears to be the title page of the book from photo 3. "The Life of Lewis Wetzel" over a picure of what looks to me like a naked whiteguy throwing a black baby onto a fire. The left sheet has a picture of something that looks like a skeleton/zombie/death dressed in napoleonic uniform. Both pictures have had red colour added to them.

Photo 5:
Looks like the end of the book. There are some lines and some numbers on the left side of the sheet. On the right the word "Folio = "is written, followed by something in very faint pencil. There also appaer to be two lines of text in faded pencil at the bottom of the picture.

In the middle of the page what looks like a family tree. My guess is that A.C is Antonio, but that's the only letters that make sense to me at this time. There are some missing links in the family tree.

Analysis from the "Traitor"

Extracts from the e-mail I sent to Adam, I have missed bits out but these were where I had done a little digging and just mentioned possibilities of what I should look into, (more in the hope that I would get a nudge in the right direction, than anything else!!), and other info that I passed onto him due to his reluctance to visit the site himself.

Quote:
I have taken a brief look at the pictures you enclosed in your last message, and would be interested in seeing as many as you care to share with me. There was a CD/DVD in the first image - Have you tried accessing the contents of this? (I suggest that you do not use your own PC - just in case there are hidden and unwanted surprises on it).

Also, there is a key - are you aware of what this is for?

The inscription inside the book is written in Italian, and translates to: My beloved Antonio Chavingy, the day of our union. This kind of suggests to me that Antonio Chavingy was presented the book on the day of his marriage to this Elisabeth?? (but that is only a suspicion as i have had no joy finding ANY references for either an Antonio or Elisabeth Chavingy).

Inside the rear cover would appear to be some sort of family tree, and I assune that we know at least two of the people mentioned. J.C. = James Chavingy? A.C. = Antonio Chavingy?

and

Quote:
I have also done some background reading in respect of the book itself, but again haven't got hugely into this as of yet. I cannot find a publication with that title, so hopefully the content of that specific book is not important, but more likely, it is the subject that is being pointed to. Although, interestingly Lewis Wetzel was nicknamed "The Indian Killer", coincidental perhaps, especially as another murder has occured in the city, that is being blamed upon a "God Killer".

That really sums up all the research I was able to do for this before my holiday, as had a hectic time before going away, and when I returned it seemed to have been solved so not given it anymore thought, with me being accused of betrayal to boot! (I never received the package).

I personally cannot see a cloth, but think that the book cover/binding is made of some sort of material.

The pics were going to get posted when I got the package, but no need now as notgordian has posted them, and I do not have any others. (I never received the package or additional pictures).

Adam's reply to the above, again an extract only, as the rest of his reply referred to another agent/character was:

Quote:
Something does not add up, and I worry that our information is getting into the wrong hands.

You seem like a smart guy Brum - so I'm going to need your help, and as I've said, the help of others.. We are moving forward with the search for the folio and it seems likely that more pages will come into our possession soon. You may have heard of the search in the midwest which is going on currently. I have hit a brick wall with the Nero Chavingy lead however, and I was thinking - maybe I could send these items to you for your review? I worry that I have missed something - and to be frank I can't do it alone.

What do you say?

I'm sure I do not need to post my reply, but suffice to say it was along the lines of "Gimme, Gimme, Gimme"!!!

As an aside, and just to throw it out there, are we certain that this page is still in play?? The pictures on Foo's blog seem to be outside the library, inside the library, a picture of the shelf where the book was, and lastly a picture of the book itself. If I'd gone to collect it, these would be the pictures I would have taken, and NO, my holiday wasn't over the pond!!

Also, why would Foo actually help in the search for the Folio??

Errrr ...... Did I mention that I did not get the package???

Sorry for the monster post, but I had lots to say!

Brum

P.S. - If people think that this should also be posted in the Theo thread, or just posted there instead - Let me know, and I'll be happy to move or copy it to there.

I'm in the midwest, too, however, several times I have seen the folio page in New Mexico referred to as being in the midwest so it may be that one.
