8141- Are we sure it's John?

That's an interesting bit of speculation, but I beleve he said something about him mentioning "goto". That would hint towards some sort of BASIC style language. JAVA doesn't support gotos. I can't think fo anything to do with that stuff in java, but I will keep looking around.

Hey - i looked at the last few caretaker logs again. i didn't see anything about "go to" but they might be edited.

i am not a Java programmer but is there a way that info could be put into the NRu site through JAVA??

I know my question isn't very clear but CT said something about a "frontdoor" in the 10/24 session at 22:36.

He seemed to imply that there is a way to get information in addition to the backdoor method. Kona asked him about another log-in site and he isn't too clear.

The more I read this, the more I think that 8141 is seperate from the crossword. You guys had already suggested reading the Bible parts before the 8141 came up.

Unless I am wrong about the order of the logs. I am still getting a handle on this info.

Yes, cookies. Your sugestion gave me an idea to check for cookies on the nru.us site (Yes, magesteff, I should have checked when I replied to your post). They use webtrends cookies, just like cfrg.us.

However, nru.us's cookies are improper. They contain the IP address of the server, not the IP address of the client. In adition, I have two entries for that value in my cookie cache. I don't know what this means at the moment, but definatly sends up a red flag in my mind. I am at work now, so I can not do any hardcore analysis, however I will work on it when I get home.

[EDIT: After further investigation, tinag.com and acheron.us have a similar cookie, with the servers IP rather then the clients IP, like cfrg.us. However, both of those only have one entry rather then two.]

Maybe we are onto something here. i am not sure about checking the cookies because I am not at home. It would be great to get some new info before the game restarts.

Already mentioned about a month ago on IRC, but didn't make it here. There is about 3 or 4 possible meanings of 8141, one of them is Java.
I am a Java programmer so the informations:
There is GOTO in Java although it is not used (It is a reserved word without meaning for later use).
There is no Java on either of the sites. They use ASP and PHP as far as I know.

After further research, that appears to be an anomaly with my work machine. The cookies check out fine on my home computer.

Also, there is one javascript. http://nru.us/fprotate.class It is used within http://nru.us/nrureccenter.htm . It appears to be clean, nothing of note in it.

Thanks, but please look at this again. i wish I knew more about Java. the whole page is different than any other page and navigates differently. Is that just becase the picture changes??/ And why would that be?

Maybe someone else can help here. I think that we can't assume that 8141 is John. It might not be Java, are there any other porgamming terms that fit??

Please read the logs - not the Wiki summaries. You have to get the entire flow of several days of contact from Caretaker.

Maybe I'm crazy, but I think there has to be another "frontdoor" way to acccess NRU. caretaker said so as clearly as he possibly could. At least to my reading.

Java and JavaScript is two different things. One developed by Sun and one developed by MS for similar purposes (?).
But the *.class you have found IS Java. I'll try to see what's in it.

Gosh Anthrax I hope I didn't do anything wrong. I am a very nice person and don't want to upset anyone. It is obvious that I dont know programming at all (yet) and I was only asking for help.
