Last year with the lighthouse, we figured out that is was morse pretty quickly. Mainly due to the fact that there was only one light source in that puzzle.
Q) How could you repeat that puzzle and make it more challenging?
A) Add multiple light sources!
People could read too deeply into it (as we so often do) and begin counting lanterns over, in between, how many rows back, etc. etc. Nice way to throw off the uninitiated. Again, just a thought...

Chinese Paper Lanterns Okay site is open.
There is a row of 9 paper lanterns just bouncing along - then it repeats - if you click on the lantern, they will lite up - the 4th and 8th lanterns have a O on them but none of the others show any type of number.
I'm assuming that there are 9 coordinates but am stuck looking at these bouncy lights. Any clues?

Interesting puzzle, here is what I got so far:
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Across there are 9 lanterns. I assume that is the numbers sytem (0 being none on).
Some lanterns light others up with a blank or an O.I marked blanks with X's
0 - _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _
1 - _ _ _ _ O _ _ _ _
2 - _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ O
3 - _ _ _ O _ _ X _ _
4 - _ _ X _ _ _ X _ _
5 - O _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _
6 - _ _ _ _ _ _ _ O _
7 - _ _ X O _ _ _ _ _
8 - _ _ _ _ _ X _ _ _
9 - _ X _ _ _ _ _ _ _
Haven't figured out what that means yet though
BTW,
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
9 numbers in coordinates for next destination ---- - -----

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
there are actually os on 1st, 4th, 8th, and 9th...look at the light sequencing and what sets them off
actually dark i got different sequences than you somewhat (or maybe the same and im reading yours wrong:
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
x=lit, o=lit and w/ an o, -=light, but not lit
0=_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _
1=x _ _ _ o _ _ _ _
2=_ x _ _ _ _ _ _ o
3=_ _ x o _ _ x _ _
4=_ _ x x _ _ x _ _
5=o _ _ _ x _ _ _ _
6=_ _ _ _ _ x _ o _
7=_ _ x o _ _ x _ _
8=_ _ _ _ _ x _ x _
9=_ x _ _ _ _ _ _ x
oh i see, you took out the lamps you clicked on...well if this helps anyone too:)

must be some sort of numbering system with 4 aspects:
1) which lantern do you click
2) which lantern lighs up
3) Does it light up with an O or with nothing on it
4) Why do some light up when 2 diferent numbers click it (sometimes differently and sometimes with same symbol)

it seems when you click the lantern in the lit sequence directly before/to the left of the o lantern, the o will show. it doesnt show when you pick it to light up the sequence

This one is tricky Okay I think I've figured out some of the coordinates -
549XX SOUTH 184XX EAST
What do you think?
Am I on the right track??
I think the order of the lanterns is the order of the coordinates and when you turn some on, others light up with the BIG GLOWING O (so am assuming that lantern is the coordinate number).
