Want to Hire: A Dozen Arg-like Puzzles for Non-Arg Project An actual person wanting to buy 12 puzzles Hi Unfictioners, I'm looking to pay someone to develop about a dozen puzzles (of noob to novice difficulty) for a project I'm working on which is not an ARG.
I have some previous experience with ARGs (both player and pm), so I understand the issues involved -- these are very simple puzzles, however, meant to be cracked by a non-arg audience in under one day each.
In payment, I can offer the credit and exposure that from related press releases, and about $60 to $100 USD.
The puzzles will revolving around 12 names and 'coordinates', like thus:
Golden Pond 124 260

Would it be useful to create a database of people willing to make puzzles for games?

I doubt the usefulness because of one thing:
Making a list of people would also have to include some form of... sneak- preview so a PM could screen for a particular style or puzzle-genre. It would leave a 'paper-trail' most PM's would want to avoid. Whom ever would have access to that database would also be able to puzzle who made what and what thinking could be behind a puzzle.
Bit confusing (even for me) but it is a risk I would not be willing to take if I were to make an ARG. But that is just paranoid me.
Having said that: Ad me to the list. But don't expect me to take money for it.
Here is my "sneak preview". Some computerskill is needed.

You will know without a doubt if you have found the answer. Trust me.

Solved. I know that solves in this thread are irrelevant, but I like Photoshop puzzles so much...

Make a horizontal guideline that splits the image in half. Copy the upper half to the lower half and set the layer type as Difference.

Congrats. You are the first that did not give up on this rather simple puzzle.

It is the most rounded typeface and hiddes best in these kind of pictures. Straight lines and angles show up if you look really really hard. Squinting helps.

Here you go puppy, but I'm more one for ciphers than riddles:
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Simple sub with some plaintext alphabet letters used multiple times:
abcdefghijklmnopqrstuvwxyz123456789 -Cipher alphabet:
thequickbrownfoxjumpsoverthelazydog -Plaintext alphabet:
Decoded text:
The fox is quoted in flavor about eating dogs.
What dog..don't you eat?
I know the dogs you do eat are hotdogs, but not sure about the ones you don't?
