Kona and Puppy, nope.

It is a very beautiful Asian film, with a twist.

Edited: And I should add, two parts of this movie are duplicated in two American films, released about 15 years later, give or take a year or two.

Although I've never seen the movie, just read the book, I'd say that looks very island-y and Greek and is suggesting Corelli's Mandolin to me.

EDIT:

Google image search tells me I am correct (The book was Corelli's Mandolin, the movie added "Captain" to the start of the title) so I am posting the next still now.
