Most of the puzzles have been reasonable, but there have been exceptions:

Not wanting to give too much away
The cocktail - number of letters would have been handy as the answer was not complete.
The 'not of this world one' - Maybe it's just me, but I was stuck in outerspace for a while.
And now Level 14 - I assume it is some kind of number series (I'm probably wromg), but there is no mention of whether the answer is a series of numbers, letters, how long, or any other clue as to it's form.

Unfortunately, saying it is like that other puzzle isn't any help to most of us, as we have no idea how you got to that answer either. And that answer suggests that the answer to Level 14 is not a 6 figure number.

Just a thought . . . . or 2.

I'm not sure what more unobvious clues I can give for Level 14 without completely giving it away, but I will reveal three things:

1
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Most people are completely overanalyzing this. It is level 14, not the Enigma machine.

2
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
The puzzle found from We Love Puzzles is the puzzle I was refering to using the same coding method.

3
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
The answer is not a word (at least as far as I'm aware).

I hope that these help at least a little.

Hmm, well that made it as clear as mud. The other puzzle to which you are refering is just bloody diffcult to solve, how about a hint that leads somewhere? A hint to the length of the solution would be nice. I have attempted every single way to solve it i can think of and all i get is gibberish.

That other puzzle looks just as confusing. I guessed the solution thanks to multiple choice in an attempt to get a hint at how to solve that one, but it is just as unclear!

Don't be afraid to reveal the solution, that is what we need right now! Push us in the right direction, give us a clue to the coding method, refering to another puzle that others haven't sold is not enough!

ditto that

Ditto the above comment. I'm still just as lost as before all these clues.

14

I guessed that level 14 are four numbers written in base 4.

So I get

36
691
76
256

. don't know where to go from there though.

I think this must be a joke. Looking at that other puzzle there's no possible way "In an automobile that will arrive at his house" could be deciphered from a piece of paper with those marks.

If this isn't a joke then please just give us the solution to the We Love Puzzles one.

14

hi, iam from another forum that had a go at this and we are also at a utter loss to 14. also had a look at the other puzzle that was posted here that's in the same vain which was no hope. if noone was ever able to solve that (besides it being multiple choice) what hope do we have?

its like-

you- 'if x=3 and a=182 what does y equal?'
us- 'well what's the formula?'
you 'not tellin!'

a few people have made it to 27 because a wrong guess from one of the early questions takes you there.

Re: Floor 14

I really don't understand the correlation between the 4 rows of numbers on this quiz and the 4 rows of coloured bars on the 'welovepuzzles' site.

How on earth do you convert them into colours, let alone back into letters which form words?

Sorry but I'm with everyone else, it's too hard and your hints aren't helping.

You say we're over-analysing it and that it's only level 14 and not the enigma but it might just as well be the enigma as it's just as hard to crack!

Not one person on any of the forums playing this has been able to make any sense of it.

There's not even a logical way to solve the coloured bars - just multiple choice (guess) until you get the anwser but no actual way of working out how the answer was reached.

i am stuck on 14 and 27. if we do 14-26 we might end up back at 27, so there may be no point

if the rest of you want to get to 27, it's a v random one

umm a clue to get there is

be warned though as good as our reaction times and problem solving skills are we gamers don't normally go for this type of thing.

I pretty much lost interest in this when Level 12 was reduced to figuring out someone else's mindset from a population of tens of thousands of possible/valid substitutions, but have been following along.
That said, my best guess on 14 looks like the attached.(Sorry I wasn't able to spoiler it).
Trails where the discussion, hints, answers, etc. are too closely guarded can be frustrating.
There are many older (grassroots) trails on the forum that have less strict rules.

Soogees, Yellow Brick Road and Detritus are some that the designers fully expected the players to share about. The Soogees trails and Yellow Brick Road are solved with spoilered solutions on the forum while Detritus was never solved.
I don't think anyone ever finished "Dio's Puzzle Trail", either.
And a slew of others I can't remember. They all have existing forum threads.

It seems that I overestimated the difficulty of 14 (you can say that again).

Again, I don't want to give away the answer or decoding method directly, so I have one more clue, and, if this doesn't work, I'll give you all a very direct one. But let's try this first:

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
On this week's episode of "Numb3rs", titled "The Janus List", Charlie's brother Don makes a realization about the placement of bombs on a bridge.

While his realization is not the same decoding method as for this puzzle, you need to think within the same subject matter.

And one more:

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
The answer is three letters long.

I hope this helps. If not, then I'll give one more very obvious clue. GOod luck.

Note of Interest

Looking at the Note of interest game:

What if each pair of characters represents a letter? If you only have 4 different characters (gray, orange, green, and red/yellow) you could represent 16 letters, so some letters would have to double up.

But if true, you could get a 12 letter message in there.

Such as "WAIT FOR A TAXI"

just a thought.

and maybe the red/yellow bar has something to do with a letter that is doubled up on the same bar combination as another letter, hence the two-colored design.

Nice job. So hopefully that one hint will be enough to get some more people to the lower lobby.
