Drat. I got really excited over the M-94 cipher, thinking what with its obsession with groups of five it would work with the gasmask page, but NO.

I've tried everything I could think of and I got a whole lot of junk. Sad

Just use one of the dozens of online mayan glyph tutorials and check your math yourself. When you have the right coordinates, the place you end up at will make sense for the puzzle.

How do you think those of us who have been working on it for weeks feel?

This is just a general note for all people working to catch up in Torment : PLEASE REREAD ALL OF THIS THREAD IF YOU ARE STUCK. Between what's posted here and over at Nordinho, you should have all the clues you need to move your way up to where most players are currently stuck. I'm not trying to be mean, but I keep seeing the same questions getting asked over and over, I've been giving out roughly the same hints that have already been posted, then people tend to get it. It makes me think that people just aren't taking the time to read the thread. I'm still more than happy to help those in need, but at least do due dillegence first please.

Another thing to consider is that these puzzles get increasingly hard as you go along and no one has finished yet. We know that there are false paths. There's nothing to say that where a majority of people are currently stuck isn't a false path itself. So we may be very well helping you into a dead end. Try to work to forge your own path and don't worry if it doesn't follow the one discussed here. You may very well end up being the person that finds an alternate route, solves Torment, and ends up helping the rest of us get through it.

probably a strong sense of comraderie that not all of us who are struggling through this are a party to. I'm not trying to cheat. I don't want direct answers. I'm just trying to find someone who will tell me where I'm going wrong, just a "yes" or "no."

I would never have posted if I felt it unnecessary. frankly, I'm not trying to save face on a forum, all I was asking for was a friendly nudge. not this "holier than thou" mentality we all seem to assume with a stranger. not a tirade telling me to do the obvious (which, not surprisingly, is no help).

going into hour sixteen.. this is great..

I think you took what I posted exactly the opposite way it was intended. It was meant as everyone here is frustrated and cranky with Torment as well, but probably moreso. We know how you feel.

As for your particular quandry : if you're over water, you have it wrong. Read this first and make sure your coordinates are right http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mayan_numbers . If where you land makes sense in the context of the riddle, you have it right. Then understand that the coordinates aren't as exact as previous puzzles, but they should give you the general area to start hunting the keyword.

You're on the right track. You could guess the keyword if you worked at it, but there are also frequency based methods to help you figure it out.

I'm kinda stuck with the second deja vu (the two photos with the silhoutte)

I think I could use a tip here. To be honest, I'm a bit of a newbie with cryptology and getting this far in these kind of games. I heard about some frequency analysis, but... I'm not 100% sure.

Tip anyone?

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
You dont have to use frequency analysis, but rather cypher the code. The code you are looking for Requires Understanding Naturally Encoded. If you figure out this hint, use wikipedia. If not, you will have to suffer with your torment Twisted Evil Wink

Good hint Very Happy, I'm on the right track now I think, although using what I have now, I'm still churning out gibberish. Oh well, I'll figure it out soon, now that I have a lead Wink

GAH!!! I'm going insane over the gargoyle page with the gibberish in groups of five.... I know what cypher to use, but I've typed in every keyword I can possibly imagine, and still nothing. Do I have to solve each word individually? Or in sections? It always seems the pages I can't solve myself... are the ones no one posts hints for Bang Head Cursing
