[PROPOSAL] PeprlexCityTrades Universal Blacklist
Nevermind - Bad Idea

I do a lot of trading of Perplex City cards, and nothing is more annoying than when a person you just sent cards to disappears off the face of the Earth, and never replies to your emails, or sends the cards they promised you. Because I do so much trading, I've run into quite a few of these people, and I'd like to help the community become more aware of who may be dangerous to trade with.

The best way to identify these sorts of crooks is with screenames, fake (or real) names used, email addresses, and home addresses. Putting this kind of information on the internet could be dangerous I suppose, but then again I think these people deserve it.

So, what do you think? Shall we create a blacklist?

Note: I am aware that an even better way to mark people that are bad for business is by simply leaving them negative feedback on the Trades site, but I've seen people simply create a new account with a new email address, and rob traders again.

EDIT: Bad Idea.

Here's one fFor the blacklist

Known aliases:
golgoth
Armarant
chrisfurlong

Known mailing address:
Edited - MikeyJ - Sorry Scott, didn't want anyone turning up on this guy's doorstep. If you think you might be considering a trade with him - he's based in Florida. PM me and I've kept his address and I'll confirm it or otherwise. If you trade via perplexcitytrades there is a rating system on transactions that will provide some degree of confidence in your trader.

This same address and information was confirmed by a couple people who later went on to contact each other and myself. This jerk has received numerous cards fFrom people and has seemingly never sent out one in return.

Please refer to poozle's lovely trading guidelines, specifically item number 6.

While I appreciate the desire to warn others about bad experiences, I don't think the forums are the proper venue for airing these types of grievances (not to mention it would be ripe for abuse) or for "calling out" people by name.

I would not, on the other hand, be as opposed to a "whitelist" thread that commended honest transactions. It wouldn't be as vulnerable to the nick-switching problem and would be a more positive vehicle for this type of information sharing. Standard disclaimer applies of course: trade at your own risk, uF isn't responsible, opinions are those of their authors, yadda yadda.

Well...if you feel like heaping praise aplenty...whitelist thread is here in the card forums.

I'll do my best to recognize everyone who makes PXCT so great.
Sorry if I miss anyone.

And if you ever run into another trader who seems a little shady, feel free to PM/Email me for advice.

I'm glad the whitelist has been created and all, but I'm still going through with my blacklist plan on a separate forum where hate and heated discussion thrives! (*evil laugh*) If you've got some information on a bad egg, PM me.

You are more than welcome to start up your own blacklist and get people to contribute via PMs, but as has already been stated we do not want things to get personal on the forums. If I ever have a bad trading experience, you'll be the first one I PM Wink

My favoured approach is much less confrontational, I wee through letter boxes and run away. Although this does mean I have to get off my moral high-horse, so it does cause me a certain amount of internal strife. Wink

Nothing personal will be put on this forum.
