Your numbers are wrong -- double check? I folded along both white lines on the map that the image shows. there's also a white line on the image that is not on the map -- one that I think connects the two images? I have the numbers 58112 in the triangle and it says a "pair" of roses where they meet -- perhaps another two? thoughts?

Using the Map
Grrrrrrr......

My map is in shreds. If we have to use it for anything else, I won't be able to do it.

As for it being a part of the 21st puzzle....if it's anything like last year, it will have several layers of puzzling, so of course it is going to be a part of it. Which means I will prolly be a big loser cuz I can't even read half the numbers any more. LOLOL!!!! (Please don't reply telling me to print out one of the files people have posted cuz I don't have a printer right now.)

I just hope there are no more amibguous puzzles like the last one. Volvo could have called ANY number on that one piece of bone and claimed it was correct. That is NOT good puzzling. That is very sloppy. I expect more on a second-time hunt.

Confused

Adrienne...

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
For the second set of numbers you fold along the white line that IS NOT on your map, but IS on the map piece shown on the puzzle....those numbers are right along on that line.

I don't get it

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
I see two white lines in the puzzle that aren't on my map. I get the east coordinates from one of them, but it gives me the wrong south coordinates. I see 5317, using the same 7 from the other set (this is where my lines cross.) Can someone explain where 5313 comes from?

Roses

You must draw two roses on your map.

Compass roses that is!

Using the faint white lines as guides at the two spots marked by the floating map pieces draw a cross along the white lines then another cross at the 45 degree points of the first cross. Drawing your lines all the way to the outer edges.

This gives you 2 compass roses, starting at the bottom where the two roses intersect look for the 5 then work up and across until you get the whole coordinate.

Hope that helps.

I see

Well, that's completely different, then. I get it. That image doesn't quite capture it.

Two Roses

That pic has the answer which is right but leaves out the second rose. Which is the solution because of the intersecting points according to the clue.

I see the same thing. I have had issues with my map giving incorrect numbers as well. I have had to make curves when others havent and now, like you I got 5317 2937 to work with. There isnt even a second three within an inch of that line.

I dont get it either because it simply just doesnt make sense. My map is apparently different.

Gridwerk

Gridwerk starting with the dot and square point look at the white line now at the dot which is the center of the compass rose that you are going to draw, draw your first line along the white line that goes across the page at a slight downward angle, now draw your second line at a 90° angle to your first line using the dot as the center just like in the floating picture.
Next draw your third line at a 45° bisecting the 90° angles that you created going through the dot again your forth line will be the opposite 90° angles, you now have a compass rose on the dot and square placement of the puzzle.

You now need to draw your second compass rose on the circle with 5 dots piece using the same method as above along this white line.

Now where the lines from both compass line intersect are your numbers to solve this puzzle. Now look at the floating pieces one has an arrow that points up, read your results from the bottom to the top.

Note when you draw these lines go all the way to the edges of the map so your lines will intersect.

If you need more help PM me.

P.S. Your map is not different just how your doing it.

Answer

Answer to get proper order.

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
The last key to this puzzle is you must turn the map at an angle so the arrow points due north when you are looking at the map. That is how you get the proper order from bottom to top.
