[TRAILHEAD] Gazpacho Music Festival A Greek ARG! So I received a note here today from Agamemnon pointing me to the following YouTube video:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kMhgtwG2cv4
The greek note of the YouTube video says:
"What happened in the past was just a parenthesis" (slightly paraphrased to make sense)
From there I went to a website:
http://www.gazpachofestival.com
But wait! What's up with this weird looking press pass?? Aha! I smell an ARG! So I went here:
http://4728489.com/
The message says:
"Truth Unknown Land (or Country)
The path for the land of Truth will be difficult, walker
To lift the first veil describe the infinite"
Clicking on the image takes you to the first puzzle and the game's afoot!!!

The first one was easy, but I'm not having any epiphanies on "2/2" (truth).

Holy crap.. I never figure this kinda stuff out.
The red P's are the key.
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Replace the P's with pi's digits and the red numbers are the answer. 41963
Should we be posting every answer for this kind of game or no?
EDIT: The 2nd one has to do with which numbers would be selected if you spin the wheels, I believe.
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
I tried to picture it and I came up with 65829. But the answer ends up being the opposite, 39465. So I either did it backwards or the answer is the opposie of spinning it correctly.

I wasn't sure what this was yet, so didn't spoiler an answer on the first one. It's probably not an issue and you can edit them later, if it is.
Good job on 2/2. I guess it wanted us to use the 2nd arrow to determine the direction

...do I need to be able to speak Greek to get in on this?
EDIT: Does that say September 2007? I have no sound on my computer at work so the video is not much help, and my greek is miniscule to non-existent. :sigh:

Just came back from a three day trip but I will be playing translator for you on this ARG. I'll start with the video transcript after I get some rest.

Curiocity of walker
Question: I read "The Fith Day comes in September". Could this statement be misleading and something exists towards the solution already?
Answer: A wise man said: "Sometimes a cigar in a dream sometimes symbolises just a cigar."
No Walker. There is nothing more at this time for you to see. The 5th Day will open slowly the fan of history.
Until September, however, you need to pay attention...

Greek Bearing Gifts Hello all you speakers of barbaric languages
This is just to inform you that the game in Greece is up and running since September 30th at www.pemptiimera.gr (or www.5th.gr)
I'm part of the team that made it and I'm only discussing it and bringing it up due to the fact that I'm assuming that I will not be fishing for players as the game is completely in Greek .
-In the rare off chance however this is not the case: Dear Greek speaker assume everything I say beyond here is a spoiler. There. Covered that base. -
The reason behind this post is two-fold
a) To give you a glimpse of a site and a game in a faraway place.
b) It kind of depressed me to have people think this was another case of a game that went nowhere. (I really, really really hate it when that happens)
If you are still reading.... a couple of theory points which I'm adding simply for the hey of it to give you some insight in what goes in our little foreigner heads
So what is this. Is it an ARG?
Well.... yes and no. (but, aha it is, see below )
It's actually a bit of an experiment in cross media -and we are hoping to share the data once we conclude our game.
It's a puzzle trail through websites that narrates a storyline through various media (that includes videos, text, audio etc. ) in an episodic format. Clues will be transmitted via various means including crossing very much into realistic territory.
We like to think of it -and I'm sure purists might differ ,which is fine- that it's a cross between ARG's and Internet based dramas. We -our studio in Greece- feel that it's pretty unique in terms of blending media and making our own Greek salad (the puns don't seem to stop do they?)(you can tell I'm too close to this as I'm arguing with myself in my own post...)
The game is sponsored by SonyEricsson Greece and we were fortunate enough in that they understood from our first pitch that this was NOT an advertgame.
So far we've just published our second episode and we have a couple of thousand players.
They seem to be enjoying it.
One final word,
Because darn it we love ARG's:
Deep within 5th Day there exists the full explanation of what really happened to Yiannis Neilos. beyond the obvious. (Pay attention Greek speaker who shouldn't have been reading this?...)
At any rate,
I'll stop my rambling here. I will be happy to discuss the game with others should there be any interest.
Thanks fo the time.
