SPEC: Dr. Z/Jake research NRU files

Since a few people are having problesm getting to the research pages:

NOTE: Possible puzzle message on the Left side of the first page:

Quote:
arXvi:quant-ph/0311092 v3 17 Nov 2003

This may just be the magazine the article ran in, then again... one never knows unless one mentions it.

The paper is about storing photons in an excited matrix. <Oversimplification>How to turn on a neon or fluorecent bulb and not have the light show until you want it too.</oversimplification>

The Espoo.doc from the same file contains pictures and descriptions of the Lecturers and their topics.

I wonder, does anyone else think the pictures in this and the other Espoo poster might be stegged?

May not be a puzzle

Hi. I just happen to know that this reference is to arXiv.org a service for e-prints of scientific papers. The reference number is the abbreviation for the field quant-ph(quantum physics) followed by the year (03),month (11)and the number of the submission (092). THe paper we found is the 3rd version of the paper submitted (v3- formatting problems with the tables) and the date it was submitted (17 Nov. 2003)

I assume this paper is here as part of a trail leading somewhere, so perhaps the number is also a code (which would be a smart way for people doing physics research to secretly pass messages to each other by posting an innocous looking paper with the correct numbers for the coded message.)

I didn't see the Espoo file that went with this. NEVERMIND I FOUND IT. Interesting that the photos are updated in the newest Espoo page we found.

the page can be found at:
http://xxx.arxiv.cornell.edu/PS_cache/quant-ph/pdf/0311/0311092.pdf

and the "home page" for the paper is at http://xxx.arxiv.cornell.edu/abs/quant-ph/0311092 where you can get html and postscript versions of it.

At a cursory glance it looks identical.

Thank you Rose, I didn't know that. I will have to add that site to my reference lists.
