Assuming the countdown up top actually is going at a rate of a number per second (and for the hour and fifteen minutes I checked b/c I didn't bother viewing the source, it is), that places the zero hour in a little over three years.

If thats true, I did my math wrong. Heres what I got.

60sec*60min=3600sec/hour
3600*24=86400
18371000(sec till 0)/86400=212.63 days

Does that make sense to anyone else, or did I make a mistake?

I got Buddhist professionals from Indonesia and China, and the letters at the bottom were
"wfzetg ih tpugimihw foqfz bva bggn esjsl.
yhi lszb idfwgp hkh njl uwksm crw."
Haven't been able to do anything with them just yet.

Also, something about
"Then I remembered half-heartedly swigging that glass of brandy three years ago, and envisioning the world-changing manifesto that I'd write someday. "Fu**," I said. "That's it!""
struck me as a little odd. Normally, people either use replace the vowel of a swearword with an asterisk, all of the word, or all except the first letter. Censoring just the last two letters is something I haven't seen anywhere. Considering that one person's name is represented as ****, does anyone think it could be significant?

How about White Young Adults from Oklahoma?

I long for exotic people in foreign lands and I get 20-somethings from the heartland? It is so bad I am humming OOOOOOOOOOOOk-lahoma and cursing Rogers & Hammerstein.

Also got the code:

wfzetg ih tpugimihw foqfz bva bggn esjsl.
yhi lszb idfwgp hkh njl uwksm crw.

Anyone notice the periods at the end of each line? Still working on it.

I've updated the Google maps/earth files, although I don't think that mapping them will help any (especially since that Indonesia and China one). KML viewable on maps is here and the updated KMZ file should be here.

Heh...my bad--dunno how I screwed that one up, but a second run-through Google's awesome calculator function supports the 200+ days assumption. I added an extra zero while doing the conversion.

I was unable to see the code in IE, so I pulled up the source && got this:

Quote:
wfzetg ih tpugimihw foqfz bva bggn esjsl.
yhi lszb idfwgp hkh njl uwksm crw.

Re: [TRAIL/PUZZLE] Choose Your Revolution
It's a simple puzzle, might be a trail for a bigger game

Just to clarify...
Was it as you state, above, or was it possibly more like "Homeless Women from Asia"?

Not that it will be a big issue.
These are probably just what they say: Unique "keys" generated pseudo-randomly from a three element array.

It was Homeless Women from Asia sorry.

As for the cipher at the bottom...I'm wondering if the previous clue,
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
"iowa couch potatoes exist".
has something to do with the current one.

It seemed random but maybe(probably) it's not.

Got it!

"wfzetg ih tpugimihw foqfz bva bggn esjsl.
yhi lszb idfwgp hkh njl uwksm crw."
is a Vigenere Cipher. Using yesterday's result of "iowa couch potatoes exist." gives us

orders of magnitude bring the best clues.
you have almost hit the first one.

I suck at codes, so I'm doing a little happy dance for getting this Laughing

EDIT - Visitor, you posted your message while I was writing my post!

Good job!
So, on the "Orders of magnitude" part...
I'm assuming that means that we'll get a new clue when the sign-up counter hits... 1,000?
It's currently at 963

I get the same result.
Using a converter to make sure, I get this:

18349700 seconds = 5097.1388889 hours = 212.38078704 days.

Now, 212 days from today (june 7) is January 5 2008. What happens on Jan 5?

http://chooseyourrevolution.com/revolve.js
Describes a counter (the one that's currently at 18M or so), that is counting down the number of seconds to this Unix timestamp: 1199592000

That date is Sunday, January 6th 2008, 4:00:00 (GMT)

All their XHR/Ajax stuff goes through http://chooseyourrevolution.com/revolve.php, which will give you 'notok:go away' if you go to it directly Smile
