INFO: Other documents from the research pages at NRU Here are more documents from the Research server at NRU
030103.pdf is documentation of an agent from the HCRD back to the UN meeting in 1960 when Krustchev beat his shoe on the table.
acceptance.pdf is the conditions under which the Professor agreed to work at NRU. Notes: He brought Jake with him from University of CA. THe HCRD was the one that offered him the job.
Looks like the HCRD is involved in the game, and has sent time hoppers out.

also a new one under jake's login (draft1020.zip). it's related to the power leak chat log (1208chat.txt - between jake and zeladzny - attached here again for easy reference)... it read like a follow-up to the chat but the date of draft1020 is Oct 20, 2002 which is before 1208chat.txt which is dated Dec 08, 2002...

Missing words in 030103.pdf In pdf 030103, there are missing words in paragraph:
Quote:
Pre-initiation
HCRD Agent Jonathon Clark was given 20 hours of briefing related to political climate, current events, and his em...???...or surveillance and intelligence gathering will be tested and followed.
Possibly 'employer's guidelines for' (or similar)
Should we be looking for some guidelines / staff handbook on the HCRD site?

In the Echelon Memo from Caretakers e-mail (2nd I think, same one as led to the "Journey" test), the HCRD manual was mentioned as having the procedure to follow regarding communications, I suSPECt that if we can get our grubby little hands on a copy of the manual, we will be able to get a handle on the communication paths/decryption schemes we will need at some point.

date of acceptance letter bothers me The date of Dr.Z's acceptance letter is August 1, 2001 and it is addressed to the Dept. Of Homeland Security. As we all vividly recall, the Dept. of Homeland Security was created as response to the September 11 attacks on the United States.

Which leaves us with another question... if Homeland Security was always around (at least far enough before Sept.11, 2001 to offer a position to Professor Z) and are interested in Time travel, what other conflicts would they be sticking their little fingers into?
Speculations to think About:
World Wars 1 and 2, the attack on Pearl Harbor, the bombing of London, invasion of France might never have happened. Taken far enough back, and in a different countries hands: the American Civil war for independence from England.
Not just events but also technology:
In World War 2 the superior air power won. Helicopters were a fairly new developement, without them would the war have been won? Or would it have been won with a different balance of power in Germany, would Russia have held a larger section?
Imagine having smaller better cellular phones during that same era.

Well, there was the Civil War, and there was the War of Independence. I would think the Civil War (a.k.a. the War of Northern Aggression) would figure highly on their list. I bet those stinkin' Yankees up thar in Washington D.C. can't wait to bring in Jefferson Davis on terrorism charges. Oh, the humanity!

Combined blogs and jake's 1020 draft letter;possible files? For ease of reference Iam putting the combined blogs, which are posted in the Interaction section under the Caretaker chat here. I give full credit the creators of this extremely helpful document, Muffin and Onyx_Hun
http://forums.unfiction.com/forums/files/1281_1071154996.html
Kris and I have been up for too long and now been into his private stash of vodka. Bobo made it back. We were able to put him at the exact elevation and longitude and latitude we projected. I should go home but I can't - I'd blab to Meg and she would think I was crazy. 2002 Oct 10 21:35
[draft 1020 letter which is first indication of power consumption increase]
We're getting a lot of pressure to begin human trials. Kris is still really concerned about the safety. Between the power failures and spurious entries in the logs, he's not convinced that the margin of error has been fully minimized. 2002 Oct 22 09:42
I've scheduled a huge series of trials to prove to Kris that we're ready for primetime. 2002 Oct 25 07:10
We almost did it. Someone pushed that we send someone to watch the attack and document. Kris threatened to leave the program if it happened. 2002 Dec 07 12:02
(I assume this refers to Pearl Harbor-note the Coyote Digest sports article in which the football coach refers to the Germans bombing Pearl Harbor.)
Then, Dec 8 chatlog where Jake deduces that others may be using the machine to hop. Also in this chat Dr. Z says "wait for the protocol" but Jake's log shows the protocal being approved on July 30 - did he not tell Dr.Z?
Possible files to find:
pgmt01, pgmt02, hoplogs, power company files

Another question When I open some of the adobe files, the file number appears in the list of files- could these numbers be of any help anywhere else?
At work, our document numbers always refer to a specific client or project so we can keep them straight.
The numbers:
529_107459036 (acceptance letter)
529_107458808 (document on agent trip to UN)
258_1071259260 ( Jake's draft 1020 letter in zip file)
Also - do we think that John/Reggie/Marcus is posting these for us to find now that he is with Caretaker?

Those numbers are a result of the unfiction file attachment. They are changed by the board, not by the research server I'm afraid.

Pure Animal House.

Otter: Germans?

Bluto: And it ain't over now. 'Cause when the goin' gets tough...

Time to email Caretaker? Now that we have proof of the time-travel is it time to e-mail the man?Isn't that how we left it?
Can we proceed on any other fronts - the Bank, Cypher Systems, the photos of John Baxter or anything else?
PS I've never seen Animal House, sorry to say

THe stuff in the project files on the NRU Research server I think were put in by Katrina. There is an e-mail in Prof. Z's in box that has her name on it and a reference to putting the Sverdlovsk files into the computer under his project.
I'm at work at the moment, I'll put up a copy of the letter as soon as I can.

The way that the research computer sends the files to you is through a "fileid" form posted to a php script. I made a list of the file IDs, and here it is:
Code:
1. espoo.doc (on jake's personal)
2. missing.pdf
3. acceptance.pdf
4. (unknown)
5. (unknown)
6. harass.pdf
7. espoo.doc (on project pages)
8. 1208chat.txt
9. 0311092.pdf
10. 030103.pdf
11. (unknown)
12. draft1020.zip
In addition, the email system uses a similar php for its requests.
Code:
1. (unknown)
2. (unknown)
3. Graduate Work
4. Looking for information on Jake
5. Diamondbacks Tickets
6. Sverdlovsk archives
I had hoped to use one of those fileid numbers to fill in many of the missing documents/correspondence that we don't have right now, but manual requests of those files returns a "Security Violation: Invalid credentials for message access." It will return that same error if you are logged in as a user that isn't "supposed" to have access to that file, such as accessing Jake's email on Zedlaney's account. None of those unknown files are able to be accessed with either of the accounts. These may be owned by another user of the system, I'm not sure. These could just be used later too, or already have been used for testing purposes. It's hard to say.
