BTW What if they created Wikipedia....the friend that created the internet application. I mean there's a LOSTipedia and a Heroesipedia.

I was thinking the whole wikipedia thing as well, but then I saw this site talking about kevin rose (founder of digg). Still not sure if that's even what we're looking for though... 14 clues seems like a lot to get out of the manifesto

I found this on the below website explaining quantum physics...in case we need it for references to certain things. I thought this quote may be connected to the manefesto as it involves the words 'play', 'Einstein', and 'quantum physics'. Maybe they're just keywords or something....

I'm gonna make a blog post now. Based on what we have now, this could be really good.

Below are all the punctuation characters for the 19 paragraphs. It's not going anywhere, for me. But I'm posting in the hope it will help with "recognizing the patterns and the meaning behind them."
Code:
,.","..
.:,.,..
..."'',"....'....,-.
,,'.
,.,-,...,',.
"?"..".".'.
"-?".."-."-.'(,,).
","..".",,'.-().
'-"".'..,.=.
.,,.'-.'.....
****,',,.'."',"."'...',"..
-',-'.,,,.,","."',."
.,,,..
,,'.
',.,.
,*****,'.",',',".
-,-'."**,"."'!"
(),.****,,..'.',,,.
,,,,!

I doubt I'll be doing a blog post. It just seems like the equivalent of forwarding chain emails

The bittorrent idea fits. I cant say if its true or not, but it definitely fits, because of the themes of coming together in large numbers to achieve a common goal.

Also, perhaps the more people that sign up, the faster the countdown goes.

Just a thought.

P.S. Is there any rhyme or reason to the way you typed out the punctuation above, Igor? It looks like a skyline, when viewed from the side.\

P.P.S. The second to last reference to his 'friend' contains five asterisks, not four. This adds a bit of believability to the Bram Cohen theory.

I just removed all the letters and one number "2" from the manifesto, proper. I was playing around with various counts and trying to equate them to letters.

I am almost certain there is hidden text in the manifesto. I have tried first letter of each paragraph, first letter of each line, first word of each paragraph, last word of each paragraph, and all capitalized words.

Nothing so far.

"You must be," said the Cat, "or you wouldn't have come here."

Could just be an amusing coincidence, but I think it's letting us know Author doesn't like his friends in the first two paragraphs

Quote:
On the night before I graduated college, I raised a glass of brandy for a toast with my three best friends. "To continued success," T. said.

W. then listed our accomplishments: He had turned down all of the top law schools in favor of a top investment bank, I. would be going to Oxford on a Rhodes scholarship, and T. would be going to Kennedy School of Government at Harvard before training to be a diplomat.

If you consider the girl S. at the end, they're TWITS. >__<
