Re: $25,000
Ransome

Has anyone else noticed that the original ransome amount is the exact same amount as the donations given to the cinima?????$25,000--could mean something????? AND Max intentionally panned his camera over to the side script on christina's computer durring the video for day #5......can anyone make out what it says?

Ok now we've got another imposter LOL

I doubt that is anything more than a coincidence...

Oh and re the addresses - I agree that we need to find the address but what I am thinking is that the listed ones are not the actual address but that the puzzle of them (if in fact it is a puzzle as I think) could end up giving us an entirely different address...

??

Could be either...

I'm thinking that IF "they" want to keep us all on our toes, THEY could very easily replace the .JPG with another with the same name with changed information, without having to EDIT the page directly! Just need to upload a file by the same name with changed info..

IMO!
Confused

Except they still have to type the text into the graphic so why not just type it into the page - still makes no sense...

Suzuki

Suzuki is a sponsor for a reason, just like Applebees is..but hardly any mention of it. The emails I have been getting from Christina have all had the Applebees ad, except for todays, which did have the Suzuki Logo on the bottom...

It is Day 5. so maybe Applebee's was the main sponsor for the first half, and suzuki for the scond half.

I kept wondering why at the very beginning we saw a Suzuki ad showing an SUV with a shadow in the shape of a motorcycle. I know it references an ad I've seen on tv. (Something like the suv has soul of their bikes or something) But I keep going back to the idea that maybe it was just a visual metaphor for things aren't always as they appear. But after the one password's connection to a sponsor, gotta wonder if we'll have some of that with Suzuki later on.

NO MORE SPOILERS
NO MORE SPOILERS

Some of us are actually serious about doing this ourself, and considering there are prizes involved, which are divided up the more people that win, I really don't think you ought to be giving out answers to the puzzles. Discussing the videos names of drugs etc is fine, but giving the Answers to puzzles is ridiculous. Its down right cheating, cheapens the contest, and hurts each and every true winner of the contest. Its bad enough the puzzles are so easy that probably the prize money will be worthless, but we don't need everyone in the world getting it because you keep posting the answers.
If you solve the puzzle keep the answer to yourself.
If you can't solve the puzzle, do the right thing and give up, don't come here looking for help.

The picture might contain a file, that is common in ARG games. Unfiction has a tutorial about it which says:

"Steganography

Computer files (in this case images) contain unused or insignificant areas of data. Steganography takes advantage of these areas, replacing them with hidden files. Steganography can also be used to create digital watermarks like imbedded trademarks, but for the purposes of playing Alternate Reality Games, the focus remains on the file hiding capability of this process. A popular misconception about Stegged images is that they look different than images that have not had files hidden in them. The image remains unchanged in appearance."

If you go here:

http://www.unfiction.com/dev/tutorial/steg.html

There are instructions for downloading and using two different programs to desteg an image. I can't download programs onto this computer so I'm hoping someone who can will check this out for me.

Like you just said, the prize money is WORTHLESS so, what does it matter if we help eachother out. It doesnt say anywhere dont give out the answers. If you don't like it, don't come here.

Yes that is true with jpg images but this unfortunately is a GIF file and I do not believe (although I could be wrong) you can steg a gif...

EDITED: Hmmm I am wrong - apparently you can steg a gif - looking into this possibility...

Oh and to "Angry" - if you don't want to see the spoiler just avoid highlighting them - that is the whole point. Sharing information is not cheating - so if you don't like the program, change the channel dude.

I also agree that Suzuki has something to do with the puzzle...It is an XL7 which appears on other websites...such as emend. And it hasn't been on the bottom of Christina's daily emails...except for todays.

I think all of the clues added together will give us our final answers.

Hmmmmm

PLEASE don't say this is repetitive. I REALLY think its valid. I know that everyone rolls their eyes when they hear about SATCHELTON FUNERAL HOME. BUTTTT... When you read the obituaries have you noticed that with Carol Kripper that she "Died Suddenly in her home IN SATCHELTON. This is the first I've seen a reference to an actual city. Has anyone Anagramed Satchelton? Also....

Christina Mattabonnet (also a resident of Satchelton) it says that friends may "CALL" from 7-9pm Sat and 2-4 and 7-9pm Sunday at the Satchelton Funeral Home, in Satchelton 111 Main Ave. Burial Monday at 11.

Doesn't it seem possible are clues?

Also regarding the dog in the first video - the woman "Carol Krippher, 47, who died suddenly on June 1st had THREE dogs. Dodger, Milky and Hop-scotch. Anyone make out the name in the 1st kidnap video?
They also mention contributions to be made to ANIMAL FRIENDS of SATCHELTON.

Oh.. and the reason why I pointed out guests may "CALL" is because the other obituaries say that guests may be "RECEIVED".. Called seemed unusual

The tutorial DOES specify a JPEG, but perhaps stegoarchive.com might have more information. The tutorial also points out that if PMs want you to desteg an image, it's usually pretty obvious (how? doesn't say).

I have to say, I must have been living under a rock all these years. The things I'm learning are amazing! Well worth the time and effort, and the 50 cents payoff that I'll get from Applebee's! LOL
